Pompey fans voting for a statue of them selfs over disabled facilties. **** me there priorities are terrible. Should use the money to pay off debts
Think they only had 3 choices what to spend it on. The statue would have been my third choice, but hey ho!
Reminds me of comment on BBC's Wimbledon programme: A real problem for Murray having his balls fall out of his shorts.
As I said on the version of this thread on the Pompey Board. The only statue I would support for Pompey would be one of Jimmy Dickinson or Alan Knight.
A statue of Westwood? Getting escorted from St Mary's by the stewards after peeing on the seats, say?
I'm not clear on this. Did the fans want the statue or did Saints fans hijack it and voted for the statue? Would hate to berate the Pompey fans if they really wanted one of the two better choices.
To be honest Fran it would have depended what the options were and somehow in reality I cannot see our fans getting involved in such scull duggery can you?
Some would yes...just like a few Pompey fans hijacked a vote on new kit a few years back. Choice was statue, disabled facilities and free tickets for schoolkids. Not sure how anyone would think that the statue was the best choice in their present situation. I would have gone for free tickets for kids myself to get future fans through the door,
Really? Please tell me you're being ironic? Seriously though, a statue of the fans would be a really bad idea, surely most Portsmouth fans can see that. Maybe I should vote.......
True to form, they will decide on the thing that the fans feel is the most bizarre. Thats my prediction.
Imagine a statue of fans and the club disappears...how stupid would that appear. How good would a statue be at £30,000...they are expensive things...especially if you get it wrong as we did with the first statue of Ted Bates (cue all the jokes about the ugliness of Pompey fans!).
If we are permitted to, perhaps a few of us here can vote, and make it for the right choice, which would either be free tickets, or something more lasting, the toilets for the disabled. At least then we can be seen to have redressed the balance on a typically overreacting headline about a stupid few. What do you think, Pompey fans..?
Saints fans corrupt Pompey's Statue vote. I have some problems making sense of the title of this thread as there is verb missing or in the wrong place. What have Saints' fans got to do with corrupt Pompey's statue vote? Perhaps it should have read "Saints' fans vote for corrupt Pompey's statue".
I would have voted the 30k go to pledges for the PST. If we were to build a statue, it would be of Gentleman Jim on top of Portsdown hill, so he can look over our city.
Doesn't exactly help the current plight. I would have thought the best idea would be to make the most practical use of the money, for the club, as possible.
