It looks like Sean Dyche is on his way out.

It is unfortunate circumstances and unjustifiable, in my humble opinion. However, we have no choice and this is football.

This thread is for any great Dyche moments or comments that you may have. He has always conducted himself with decency and gave us a great season, as we all know, on a limited budget with many people writing him and Watford off after a dodgy start.

Hats off to Sean Dyche. In what was his first season of football management he exceed all expectations. <applause>

Finally, I would prefer no Zola comments on this thread.

He certainly exceeded all expectations for his first season as a manager and was clearly highly respected by the players. He gave us a year of stability just when we needed one after MM chew us to pieces and Baz came on the scene.
Any other small club looking for the same sort of stability, would come knocking on his door.

He seized a chance that came his way although he wasn't that sure that he was ready to be a manager. He brought in his friend Ian Woan, who is sadly being overlooked in all this, and together they started to build a team, no real stars, just hard working professionals. He must have been as unsure about the owner as we were, yet never did he turn round and pass on information that would have been inappropriate.

Through out he was friendly and willing to talk to the fans, either at matches or such events as fan's forums. His gruff voice became something that we enjoyed listening to and there was no doubt that he had an amazing sense of humour.

Whatever happens he is a proper manager of a football team now. Wherever he goes he will not find life as difficult with lack of funds and a dysfunctional back office. I just hope that for all of the hard work he put in he now gets some form of reward.

Exclellent choice of words OFH, you always seem to say the right thing at the right time<applause> I fully concur with what you have wriitten! I also hope that SD and IW and the remaining backroom staff find suitable employ at a level to which they are suited and have the support of the Chairman and Board of whoever they work for next.

I hope, if the seemingly inevitable happens and Dyche and Woan leave, that they have great success whereever they end up. Cannot believe they will be out of work for long as it is rare at this level for a successful manager to be given the push. I just hope we do not live to regret letting him go. What he did with the resources available was pretty incredible and he was not offered the chance to prove he could play the passing game which he often pointed to the pitch preventing.

Very true Mr F. And it may not mean much consolation to start with but a nice pay off might help him on his way. What would he and Woan be due , in terms of pay off?

If they're on one year rolling contracts, it's possible that they could end up without any compensation at all, depending on when that year ends. I'm not quite sure how rolling contracts work as I've only ever heard of them to do with football. Is it that it's a one year contract with a clause stating that it will automatically roll on that date every year until the contact is terminated by either party or does a new contract have to be signed on each rollover date? If it's the latter, with the takeover there may not have been new contracts for them to sign.

My understanding of a rolling contract is that it is valid for a year. So today it has a year to run and tomorrow it has a year to run and so forth.

On that basis SD would be entitled to a years pay whatever that might be.

M Frenchie said it all...but the thing that stands out to me is that Sean Dyche is loyal and honourable, and honest. He worked hard and was, to use a cliché, a fantastic servant to the club, who indeed deserves far better from us. i'm embarrassed at the way he's been treated. It feels very wrong, but yes, i now, 'it's football'..though i don't see why that should be an excuse. Sean Dyche, with the assistance of Ian Woan, did wonders in an incredibly tricky season, both on and off the pitch, and another club will do very well to give them a job. I just hope we don't regret parting the ways..if indeed that's what we do.

I am unsure of what is actually happening but one thing I am sure of is that the new owner has made a comment and the press have made a volcano out of it. What is being printed is disrespecting Sean Dyche, whether he is wanted or not. To me he has done a very good job deserving the new owners looking at his attainments. To drop someone new in is their choice but and I could have the wrong expression "If it ain't broke why fix it".

    Give Sean a chance.

Loyalty can only go so far and Sean has been a magnificent servant of the club in all his various roles. Not only is the continued silence from the club (Sean may already know what is happening) confusing for us it is not showing the new owners in a good light.

If I were Sean and reading the press I would be close to the "Stuff you, I'm off" stage, but that might be what they were planning all along.

Had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of times with Mini Bloother. A thoroughly, thoroughly decent bloke. I commented early in the season that I couldn't work out his tactics. However these became clearer as players found their fitness and players stared to understand their roles within the team. And as they began to flourish so the tactices became clearer and he was prepared to ring the changes when necessary (Murrey in for the Spurs game - masterstroke). He was also proving to be fairly adept at making changes duruing a game, something that MM (still) struggles with and at time the football was far better than we saw from Mr Integrity. Plus, how often did he blame defeats on everything else: the ref, the pitch, etc. Not often, so that when he did have a moan you knew that he had a valid point.

Of course we'll get behind the team and Mr Z, but very sad to see Dychey leave in this way, much more so than when MM and Mr Integrity left.

The best manager we have had for years!! He was close to getting us playing football for the first time since Judas and we were flying. Big loss for the club. I hope he finds a home somewhere and shows the Pozzos what they missed.
