Very best of luck Hornets, from a Toon fan.

I hope this takeover - and the appointment of Zola - will help set up a successful future.

It's very hard on Dyche and we Toon fans can totally relate to that. We were really angry when Hughton got pushed aside for no apparent reason, having said and done all the right things. But then, look where Pardew got us last season. That is the nature of the game now. Owners pick and chose who will be the team manager/coach at the drop of a hat. We fans can only hope it turns out well.

One thing is for sure - Zola will pull the crowds in. And hopefully he'll have a great impact on the players.

I genunely hope this turns out for the best for Watford FC and all the fans.

As for Dyche, all the best to him too. Hopefully he'll find a decent club quickly - just like Hughton did. <cheers>

thanks so much Obi :)...it's exciting for sure, and losing Dyche is so far the only fly in the ointment. The future seems positive...though let's hope we're not letting our imagination run away with us...! lol. I admit, i've put a bet on us being promoted this season! lol

'Ere we go again. Not even totally certain who managers gonna be yet, no idea of playing squad either, not a ball of season kicked yet, but not only Promotion Talk already, League Winners too!

Some of the ''realists'' should start preparing their 'Zola Out' pieces now just in case WFC arent 20 points ahead of the rest by, shall we say November ?

OK now confirmed theres a change of manager ('Dyche Sacked' - straight to the point Five Live).Do take account some of you tho that Zola, fine player /probably a good man and should be good for the club PR wise.... but not a successful Manager so far.No doubt players will be aware of that, much as they should respect him as a player.

Humbly suggest dont bet yer houses, spouses, dentures on Top of League or Promotion this early !

Agreed Nick. My feeling is that we will finish mid-table again whilst the new regime beds in.

Morning all, going to be another warm-hot afternoon. Plenty to do while I can, then slump for a time as the Tour heads towards the French coast.

Agree with Nick and NZ that to set our expectations too high would be foolish.

morning my fellow optimistic hornets ;)

How's everyone today. Unconfirmed reports coming out now that Sean Dyche has left the club this morning :(...a very sad day indeed.

Appointing Zola is good P.R in the wider world, though it will annoy as many as it excites among Watford fans. Zola is an amiable fellow and is liked in the media, so we will get a lot of sympathetic press and t.v. coverage for a few months. A bit more t.v. exposure? But it is not a convincing appointment from a football point of view. He has been out of management for two years, while Dyche has been (impressively) learning his trade. Zola knows nothing about our players or set-up, and has never managed at this rough and tumble level. In fact he is less experienced in management than Dyche, or even Rodgers or Boothroyd were when appointed, since they had spent years in learning roles at other clubs. It all looks a bit like "jobs for the chums"--which is the Italian way--remember Vialli and his mates? Expect more changes in coaching and playing staff. One thing for sure--the team that lines up against Crystal Palace on Aug 18th will be very different to the one that finished the season against Middlesbrough on April 28th--and not just because Deeney is in jail.

One thing I do love about the Championship...its total unpredictability. Nothing seems likely to have changed - for WFC or for any other club come to that.

Trouble is will fans and the new owners accept that?

There will be a greater pressure on Zola than on any other manager since Vialli!

I don't expect the same mistakes as that era to be made though.
