Valley it is in the hands of the individual on how they see themselves, personally regardless of what my passport says i have no wish to consider myself british, i was born welsh and as far as i am concerned that is what i wish to be. i celebrate the fact i am welsh when i get up every day. there are those that are proud to be british, and i respect that it is their individual right,

Now where football is concerned it is a different matter, they are welsh born they play for Wales and do everything to protect our national team, for the many welsh internationals who will follow in the future.

Mountain out of a molehill Mabon , save it for real issues . To ask players like Taylor & Allen to step away from the Olympics because of ... over anxiousness by some people is asking to much under the name of sport . To say you would NEVER watch England play football speaks volumes to your stand .

Read what is on the club website, the club I think are really proud that we have players in the Olympics

    http://www.swanseacity.net/page/Latest/0,,10354~2829604,00.html

It's not all bad MabonJack despite what you are saying, the Olympics has never been in the UK in my lifetime nor the world cup, this is a once only event in a generation. People are behind the Olympics and the athletes taking part, you don't like it, and you are not alone, but others are equally strongly for the games.

What if I said its a disgrace that you are not proud to be British ? because mate that is what you are saying to the welsh players in TeamGB, I really think you need to take the blinkers off, not everyone is out to get us, most don't care about a football team from The Uk around the world, including those in FIFA

Don't you beleive it mate, that is exactly the opposite of what they think, you are underestimating the power struggles that the celtic footballing associations are aware of within FIFA, because this is all about controlling areas within FIFA.

Now as for being ashamed of being british, i personally respect the wishes of those that want to feel that way, personally i consider myself welsh and welsh only, as for being british its not in my vocabulary and never will be,

Are you aware that the club website is run by a private company in England yes.

The website is run by a private company, they don't put the information on there though , they provide the platform to about 70 clubs that is it, all information on there is put there by the club directly.

And it's sad that you don't consider yourself British , because that is exactly what you are, I would find it as odd as someone who is welsh saying that they are British not welsh, it's a contradiction in terms , and you are both despite what you are saying.

There is no welsh country, we have no welsh passport, money or welsh armed services, and I hope never will. But I am welsh speak the language and so do my wife and kids, I am proud of that. But I am not deluded like the latest press release from plaid Cymru , independence indeed <doh> its the reason why they are very much in the minority !

Why would you watch anyone then Mabon ? . To specify only " England " as the only team you would never watch speaks volumes within your argument .... it's only football . Totally unfair to try to paint treason on these football players from Wales playing for Great Britain

god forbid if we ever do ascotland. It does not bare thinking about, we have no resources to trade with for a start and our cockles wont bring that much in..<laugh> who will pay our taxes to support the country, how will people on the dole buy food and shelter. who will pay for our services, fire police, ambulances, nurses doctors, and the most alarming how can we justify being in the premiership if we are independent and nothing to do with uk .....it will never never happen in a million years, we are reliant on each other to survive and cant do it on our own, and neither will scotland...
