Not sure what he did wrong there, to be honest. He was signing for Swansea, but then Rodgers left, which was quite a big influence on his decision to join. As for the new business model, that sounds like the way that we're run. Pay out a little over half of your revenue on wages and don't overspend on transfers.
Exactly, shows how much of an influence Rodgers was - but now to sod off to Spurs within a matter of days of wanting to leave Swansea to follow Rodgers..? Just seems slightly unprofessional. but then again I'm obviously coming from a position of bias.
Welcome to our world Sir_Red. We paid for Thierry Henry's taxi after holding talks with us, you can guess where he went in the taxi. He still owes us £50 as we paid his fair to the airport, not down the road!
Sorry, been busy. SSN were virtually saying it was him. For what it's worth, Goal.com were saying it's definitely him - to be announced July 1st. No smoke without fire...usually!
That's why I said " for what it's worth" however, in this case, this is coming from too many places to ignore it. Even The Telegraph are virtually talking like it's a done deal.
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...sigurdsson-to-choose-between-liverpool-946847 Wouldn't be Spurs without a transfer intrigue would it enough already make a decision!
Looks like it will be done tomorrow: http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11661/7863181/Spurs-to-seal-Gylfi-deal
Latest from SSN http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11661/7863181/Spurs-to-seal-Gylfi-deal? So, another present for us tomorrow.
I'm incredibly happy that Sigurdsson has chosen you over Liverpool (I do follow spurs in the EPL and have last seasons shirt to play football in, mainly to piss off the arsenal fans I know) but I'm wondering where exactly will be fit in, he can't be a Modric replacement, more a VDV one position wise? Does that mean he's a long term replacement to VDV? Or maybe Spurs will come up with a new formation to fit them both in, although I can see it being a good thing to overcrowd positions if AVB makes a proper go of the Europa League compared to the Spurs effort last season. I have fantasy FM13 formations already ------------ Friedel (or younger replacement) ------------ ----- Dawson ----- Vertonghen ----- Kaboul. ----- Walker-----------------------------------------Bale (or BAE) -----------------Parker --------- Sandro ---------------- -------------- Sigurdsson -------- Van Der Vaart ------------ --------------------- Adebayor (or new CF) ------------------ Maybe even Moutinho to replace Sandro (as a Modric replacement) so many possibilities and a young manager who knows how to play good football (apart from when he's being undermined by Terry and co.). Future is bright for Spurs!
I hope he'll be backup for VDV as we've never had any kind of like for like replacement for him. I worry it might mean Levy's prepared to cash in on VDV for the profit before he losses his value which would be a mistake as he's quality.
In fairness, VDV is playing at his peak now, and injuries could start catching up with him more and more as he plays on, in a couple of years if he was to go back to the Bundesliga to be closer to his wife you cannot blame him, plus there would be a 24/25 year old Sigurdsson ready to step into the role. It's a great situation squad wise, with Sigurdsson there to cover for VDV when he's injured/ fatigued too.
Please have him .. It's starting to piss me off now .. Regardless of who he chooses, I just hope he makes the right decision.
