Surely you can't be suggesting we're a fickle bunch, Nick? I didn't fancy a beer this morning, but now....
Might be the fact that we don't actually have any say in it. Yes most fans want him to stay, but if he's not our manager, we will still back the new manager... and wish SD every success in the future!
N one should want Mr Z lynched, sure he's genuinely a good guy. Could be the difficulty tho - TOO nice to handle a 'tribe' of footballers ? For the supporters tho, some will be excited by a 'glamour' name...and he may attract players with more of a name - if he can deal with them.
Strange appointment, but adds a bit more interest the League. I thought Dyche did well for you lot last year.
OMG! who would have thought this two months ago........I feel genuinely sad for Dychey but we must look forward to a new era whether it be good or bad.
Football supporters fickle.Never heard the like Pro-Dychers could have tried to make their voices heard at the club,as would be likely to happen at some other clubs, but doubt WFC were bombarded with petitions, not really the Watford Way.
Didn't think that speaking to Italian TV would go unnoticed by the humble WFC fan did he. Not that good really. Surely everything should come through the WO! My headline for all of this goes to the Gulf however. http://gulfnews.com/sport/football/watford-look-set-to-become-zola-powered-1.1043715
Sooner he starts talking to the Gazetta della Watford the better, eh? Perhaps he could get his late Uncle Emile to write a few words...
Gianfranco Zola news must be true even Wikipedia say it is so. [h=3]Watford[/h]On 2 July 2012, Zola was strongly linked with the manager position at Watford, following the club's takeover by Udinese and Granada owner Giampaulo Pozzo. Pozzo announced that Zola has accepted the position with a gentlemen's agreement, despite a contract being signed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gianfranco_Zola
Amazing change in fortunes and direction for the club. If I had read that article in the Gulfnews and been asleep for the last week or so I would have thought it was one big elaborate and rather late 'April Fools'. http://gulfnews.com/sport/football/w...ered-1.1043715 At the beginning of last season we were written off as relegation favourites and we were owned by a man who did not understand the club and was even less knowledgeable about the beautiful game. Now we will be mentioned in the same breath as Udinese and Granada and 'possibly' have all the long term security and benefits that go with being part of the 'Pozzo Portfolio' - lets hope so! Granada have benefitted considerably so there is no reason why we should not. Disappointed for 'Seany Boy' but he has done well and will soon be back in management a little older and a little wiser. I bet the Italian Restaurants in the High Street have their orders in for the new Udinese strips.
Ok reading this thread wound me up a bit people saying why would we support Zola, Dyche was good, but there is nothing we can do about the fact that he has been replaced. And people saying this was a bad call by the owners, Dyche did well with what he had, but would anyone trust him with money Iwelumo, Garner, Forsyth??? Would anyone mind if they all left? I'm personally pretty happy about everything going on atm.
I think it's unfair to include Forsyth there. If I remember correctly, it was stated that he was unlikely to play a full season in 11/12 as he was coming from Scottish Division 1. What I saw of him I was impressed by and I hope he goes on to develop with us.
The king is dead. Long live the king. Zola is an unusual choice for us in that he has managed before. Our previous 4 managers had no experience. Consequently we spend time trying to read the signs; decide whether he is good or bad; listen to West Hammers. We also don't know about the interaction with Zola that the owners and all the other people that are coming on board will have. So we speculate! It is much more fun being a Watford fan than a fan of probably every other team in the world, but it would be nice if things settle down for a while.
Well I hope whatever is decided we have stability and maybe a little taste of success. I would be sorry to see Sean Dyche leave and I sure hope the new arrangement if confirmed is not a little bit of.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzLT6_TQmq8
I think there'll be quite a few of these from a rather aptly named 60's folk group http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTdWn5vhPak
