Sod itt. Was hoping all our squad would be fully rested this summer and pre-seasoning together.

    Well done though Jack.

Superb and the only outfield player outside the Premier League (last season)

Always thought he was in with a shout, hope he gets some game time. Have to say though, looking at the squad, we could be in trouble!

Butland isn't outfield and Sordell played for Premier League Bolton. Tomkins, on the other hand, counts.

    Fantastic news. Well done Corky.

Shame about the injuries to Walker, Rodwell and Bale, but I'd say that's pretty much the strongest side Pearce could have picked. Sordell is probably the only name I'd question.

    I will concede Tomkins... :)

Cue 25 questions from the media about Beckham.

I'd much rather Rodriguez than Sordell. Other than that not many things I disagree with.

    Butland
    Richards Caulker Tomkins Taylor
    Cleverley Ramsey Giggs
    Sturridge Bellamy Sinclair

Maybe Allen for Cleverley? Maybe Bertrand for Taylor?

I do think, for u23 level, that is a decent side.

Quite happy that it's turned out to only be a rumour, to be honest.

It's not bad, but considering some of the players in other squads (case in point Suarez and Cavani up front for Uruguay in our group), it's lacking something.

And from a totally biased perspective, I'm happy that Uruguay probably have the squad to pip is to first place in the group.

From memory, if we win the group then our QF will be at Cardiff (good that we have five Welsh players then!) and our potential SF will be at Old Trafford. However if we finish 2nd, then our QF will be at Wembley, as will a potential SF - and I have tickets to that semi-final!
