Not quite sure about how we're meant to be corrupting it. I heard we were voting for the money to be spent on toilets for disabled fans, which doesn't seem too evil. Probably a 'better' use for the money than giving 'the best fans in the country' (when more than 14000 bother to turn up) a big self congratulatory pat on the back.

Well the Statue won so their fanbase are complaining that we hijacked their poll. Stupid really. Just pay the charities and CVA with it.

    A statue for £30k?!

They will only be paying 20p in the £ though, before making that 2p in the £. Probably be a cracking statue.

A business who are owed £1m by Pompey and accepted the first CVA, but were not paid and have now accepted the 2nd CVA will now get just £4k.

Just think how good the statue could be with a £7.5m budget!

Putting my two-penneth in for what it's worth, and once upon a time it was worth a lot more for Portsmouth businesses, I don't believe this money can be used to settle debts for a number of reasons.

Improving the toilets for the disabled would be a good idea as everytime I see a picture of Fratton Park there is a rather desperate looking woman on a mobility scooter who seems to be in search of something and I have a suspicion it might be the lavatory.

This money has nothing to do with the CVA and is ring-fenced so it can't be used to pay off debts.

Not that ring-fencing has meant anything in the past, eh Lampitt?

Hahaha! I think that is a good option. I think besides the statue and improving disabled facilities, the third option was free tickets for local primary school children.

Haha this is such a joke!

Why do Pompey even bother? I personally think they'll be gone within a month.

Love how Neil Allen seems to generalise the supporters, makes it sound like ALL Saints fans rigged it when there was probably only a handful.

Allen blocked me on Twitter for having an opinion and asking him a reasonable question.

    Quite sad really...

Personally, for what it's worth I would have voted for improving the disable toilet facilities. It's more tangible and longer-lasting than tickets for school kids and less egotistical than a statue.

Out of interest, what did you ask him? And ignore the comments in that article, they're particularly bad even by News standards. They don't represent most Portsmouth supporters (and yes, I do think the dirty foreigner comment is racist, so I guess that makes me a 'nob' and I should 'do one').

A few months back when Pompey were offloading Husk and Lawrence etc, Pompey tried to bring in loan players from Prem/Championship clubs, still spending large sums of money on wages. (Not necessarily 100% though).

So I asked why Pompey aren't use their youth players like Saints and others have done?

    Blocked me for it... <doh>

The only tweets of him I've seen since is when people RT some of his incredible childish tweets...

I'm pretty sure all the loan players we brought in from January onwards the parent club paid 100% of the wages (as were those we attempted to bring in). Plus, I think Appleton, as a former youth team coach, realised the potential negative impact chucking in youth players at the deep-end would have on their careers and was thus trying to avoid it. Though we did play a few youth players towards the end.

Does seem a bit harsh to have blocked you for that though.

Is this "Portsmouth" place still going with their football club?

How much of their debt have they repaid back? Is the answer... none still?

I'm not for spending money on a statue, well actually, if it's Fred Dineage, I might spend a penny on it.
