Zola will be confirmed this afternoon as our new manager...gutted for Dyche, and feel very sorry for him..i really think he should have been given a chance, but now it's time to get behind Zola 100%

    Come on you 'Orns!

This seems the wrong decision, and I'm sure fans will let the Pozzos know that if we do not look on course for a top-10 finish. However, that isn't Zola's fault. Nor is the fact that he happens to be the same nationality as Vialli and a playing legend at the same club.

It's now time to get completely behind one of the nicest men in football. If things don't go well, it is the Pozzos we should direct our (constructive, good natured) criticism towards for making a hasty decision, not Zola for jumping at a great opportunity.

I'm gutted for Dyche.... but it's time to get behind Zola. He is a great of football who commands a lot of respect. He didn't do so well at West Ham.... but then they were a sinking ship.

Hopefully he can help bring in some good players and get us playing some good football!

Disappointed for SD, as thought he deserved a shot at it.... but agree, the fans must get behind Zola and the team!

I don't believe that championship football is harder than top flight football. Sure, the style of play is different.... but that's usually because the players can't do any better. You get a team like Swansea.... and they did great playing their way. The pitches don't help but, at least half of our games will be played on a brand new surface.

Did he get West Ham playing that way? i'd be fairly impressed if we started playing like that (much as i hate admitting that BR did a good job at Swansea ;) )

Well I'm not sure about that either.... but my guess is that he's going to try and improve our "lump it to Iwelumo" approach.

Well..... as long as you have players who can hold, run with and pass the ball against championship teams that will hustle and bustle at every opp.

I don't think the type of football played has too much bearing on things. Hull, Stoke, Blackpool and Swansea have all gotten out of this division in recent years.

Hello everyone again, I'm out on parole so thought I would rejoin the not606 diehards.

This is a good move IMO, one of the major criticisms of English players recently is their inability to compete with the better European players. If you look at the Premiership and then the Championship just count how many talented foreign players grace our screens. Ok, so not many in the C'ship but the point is that there there no English players playing for European clubs. What this might do is get a rotation of players from Italy and Spain and more importantly the other way too. Now, I know that sounds a little far fetched for Watford but time will tell.

The other point that I haven't seen discussed is that, in the current European economic austerity climate, there are an awful lot of euros trying to find tax loss havens so I earnestly hope that Watford isn't going to become a loss leader for the Italians and that their motives are sound.

oh dear ankle tag is beeping.....

Well, it's not Zola's fault, it would be detrimental to the club and unfair to him.

Things have moved on in recent years. Being angry that Dyche has been sacked no longer automatically means that we want his replacement lynched.
