Torres definitely made the right decision in leaving Liverpool. He's already won the FA Cup without lifting a finger watching Chelsea embarrass his old club, he's won the European Champion Clubs Cup, and now he's won the Golden Boot and the European Championship with his country, in a squad I doubt he'd have even made the Spain squad if he'd continued to languish in mid-table. Not to mention he's earning a lot more than he's worth. What do you guys think, do you respect his decision now?
funnily enough he was a World Cup winner and European Nations Champion winner when he was at Liverpool.
I'll agree with you on the basis that you agree that Carroll has also been decent. (I've no idea if you rate Carroll or not, but it'd be nice to hear a rival fan say they do.)
Considering this thread was started by a bitter Liverpool fan pointing out how little Torres contributed towards the medals he got this season, makes your comment all the funnier. Would you care to explain his contribution to the tourno`s you mention especially the WC one, i like a giggle. Maybe you could even go further and tell us about your world class keepers contribution, well lets face it he also has the medals to prove it.
Wait till you hear him sing at the celebrations... ad yes, Reina now has 3 easy international medals.
Your bitterness is what made you post your comment lad so put the hypocrisy to bed. Seem to remember Torres getting the winning goal in the final against Germany in Euro 2008. And i think he was carrying an injury but was still chosen by his national manager for the Spanish 2010 World Cup squad based on loyalty to the player. As for Reina he's always known he would only get in if there was an injury to the first choice keeper, but his loyalty to his country means he's always ready to step in and he never refuses when chosen for the squad and unless they change the rules to suit your petty argument reserve keepers at major tournaments will always get medals if their country wins. Didn't Scholes and Keane get CL winners medals in 99 without contributing to Utd's jammy win over Bayern?
So he shouldn't turn up when he's selected for his country's squad?,or maybe you like the other plant pot want Uefa/Fifa to change the rules to suit your petty bias?
When did i ever say that? All i said was that Keane + Scholes contributed to the champions league whereas reina didn't.
Ha ha ha...... I have absolutely no idea why you think i should be bitter. Pool supporters start a thread mocking Torres for getting a medal for little contribution. I point out pool players boasting about having 2 WC winners although they contributed nothing but i`m bitter? Come on soft lad just admit this whole thread is about Pool supporters still being bitter about Torres.
Your as bitter as an unripe lemon kid,and unless you can show some logic that explains why unused squad players at major tourno's shouldn't get winners medals you'll always look bitter. I couldn't give a flying one on the subject but it seems to be eating away at you.
What dictionaries do you guys have? Just because we take the piss out of someone doesn't make us "bitter". In response to someone saying Torres' medals prove the measure of his contribution, Page merely pointed out that he won medals when at Liverpool and they weren't necessarily an indicator of how well ( or how much) he'd played to earn them. You then twist his words to make it seem like a statement you can pick an argument with. Are you bored by any chance.?
