Golden boot with Euro medal, Champs League winners medal, FA Cup winners medal. Your sarcasm makes no sense.
But what was his contribution ? In that what did he do to turn or win the game. He did very little in a poor premier league season for Chelsea. Didn't score in FA cup final ( did he get on ?) Didn't score in champs league final (sub again ) Scored tonight when game was long over Scored against Barca when game was won Yes he has had a successful season in that he piggy backed success from others but as far as important contributions then that is a big fat zero which is p... poor return for £50 million. Interesting to see if he is a regular starter this season because he was little more than a l(very low ) impact sub last season.
He was more expensive than he was worth... But he was not 50 million Can not knock Torres though. He won the Golden boot of the competition despite playing hardly any minutes.
Not bitter at all. Most of the goals he scored this season were inconsequential in regards to the overall result. Just compare the goals Ramires and Drogba scored at crucial times to Torres who usually came on late on and scored goals which only consolidated the result, his goals rarely if ever changed the course of a game or a result.
I've got to agree, Torres = essentially invisible this season. Piggybacked to success, and deep down inside he knows it, which is why he gets no confidence boosts (constant scoring droughts) from his "mini revivals." However, his form definitely picked up, Chelsea have the right to be excited and I unfortunately believe he will have a solid season for them next year. He's not getting younger so age isn't on his side, whatever he does next season will probably be his absolute peak at Chelsea.
You realise all next season we're going to get complete ****e about the golden book. He didn't play 200 minutes. He was JOINT scorer with THREE goals - the poke to Mata settled it. He wasn't the best striker there by a country mile. Fabregas scored twice in the tournament and looked better upfront than Torres - and was much better in the final. Negredo was played ahead of Torres. Llorente probably would have played if not for a personal disagreement with Del Bosque. In short, any talk of the golden boot this tournament is simply cheap point scoring, because Torres winning it was a novelty.
A man wearing a full Chelsea kit was prevented by stadium security from joining in with the celebrations on the winners podium.
I think Torres has been playing well for a while and he has been getting a lot of unjustified stick imo. However, the golden boot win is a bit of a joke. Six players finished on three goals...they could keep a bloody stood each!!!
I've seen every game he's played in this season, all you've seen is mostly MOTD and his goal stats. His contribution has been good, he just struggled to find the net plus the fact he's been competing with Drogba.
