Predicting a dull game with Spain having 70% possession, creating 2 or 3 chances and possibly taking one, while Italy try and hit on counter and also only create 1 or 2 chances. I'm not one of those people that think Spain are boring, but when they play against teams that just sit back and don't attack them, that is when it can become dull. That's why was hoping for Germany v Spain as I feel Germany would have attacked them far more.
To be fair when Italy decide to play offensively they play appealing football as well. That rarely happens but it did against the favorites Germany so maybe they'll try twice in a row? I'm going for a Super Mario hat trick topped off with a red card with Italy triumphing 7-6. Defense will turn to offense and both Casillas and Buffon will save a pen.
Despite what we have seen of them in the last two games, Italy like to defend. Add to that that Spain like to dominate possession, I think we are in for a boring training ground type game with Italy looking to get Pirlo hitting the long ball for Balotelli and Cassano to chase, ie - defend and counter. I think Spain have the experience of having been there and done it more recently but, of course, Italy have a couple left over from the 2006 World Cup too. I'm opting for a boring 1-0 to Spain, not sure whether that will be within ninety minutes or after extra time though
To be honest, I got that feeling when the mix fixing stuff came out before the tournament. The last match fixing stuff happened before they won the 2006 World Cup so it was a bit of a omen IMO. I just don't want Italy to win because the media will have a field day saying we lost to the champions so we're not that bad
betting on italy purely as spain have a jynx to overcome with the italians... they never beat them. spain are bringing football down a boring dead end and should lose if there's justice
I think Spain have played some poor football in this tournament and have been far from impressive. But they have the ability in the team to get crucial goals when they are needed and win games where they have not performed well. I think the no striker approach is awful. If we were playing Spain and Fabrigas was there most forward player, with no clear striker, I'd be quietly confident we would at least get a draw over 90 minutes.
For the sake of football......Italy. Cant do with another 2 years of the Spain love in. Its tedius and its boring and teams play that way because for 99% of the game they dont need to do **** all else as when a side makes 500 passes in their own half, whats the point. **** Italy too, other countries that are corrupt get banned. They dont win stuff. ****S!
i'd like italy to win because i don't like the no striker approach. just seems a poor idea because its all about getting the ball in the back of the net....
