In this case I couldn't agree more, he did a great job here and apart from the few who didn't like him when he was here the rest of us insulting him just makes us look bitter and I find it quite embarassing personally.
He did a good job, but it's a bit of harmless banter, Bruce our current manager is known as a dinner lady. Some people take thing way to serious
I rated him and defended him against those who criticized him. Now, however, with his attempts to unsettle players with derisory bids, I find him increasingly ****ing tiresome!
So do I, i don't care about the insults towards him, mainly the jibes about the football that he had us playing despite it not being that negative from people who praised him last season although reading through again this appears not to have actually happened in this thread, I'll read through more carefully next time
Correct me if I'm wrong, but... If you put a grey sock over your hand to create the classic "sock puppet", stick a couple of dour buttons on for the eyes and imagine the puppet claiming that it had no intentions of returning to Leicester, then the back of your hand marginally resembles the angled head of a previous manager. Or not.
DQPR is a perfectly acceptable name for them to be honest because they really are drama queens and the fact that their name begins with Queen is a happy coincidence as opposed to some of the others that are just random, including sock face seemingly!
If you can't see the difference between calling someone a twat, and names like sockface, dinner lady etc I pity you. Insulting someone once is not the same as a constant barrage of stupid name calling ala playground style. People that resort to that sort of "harmless banter" just have nothing to say but need to find something so people notice them. Imo of course.
For as long as I've been posting, QPR have been referred to as DQPR, Braford have been referred to as Bradfudistan, Leeds have been referred to as TWS, I really don't think it's a big deal, nor do I see it as anyone attention seeking(half the boards on here insist on calling me Vespaman, it happens so often I barely notice any more, just as I'm used to us being called Dull). The fact is that Bruce does look like a dinner lady, though I remain confused about the whole sock face thing.
I agree, Bruce does look like a dinner lady however, Pearson's head doesn't look like a sock. He does look like Action Man though
Maybe someone just decided to call him sockface on here once for no other reason than to see if it would catch on and one day result in a thread asking about its' origins? Or not.
It's got nowt to do with that, it originated well before when our fans sang 'town full of bombers' post the July 7th terrorist attacks and their fans cried as if Diana had died again.
Did it? I thought it originated from the game when we beat them 2-1 in 2007 when they tried holding onto a 1-0 lead through various forms of time wasting.
I hated Pearson. Actually couldn't stand him. I found his style of football boring, his ethic of winning games utterly stupid (At home, we played like we was away) and in interviews he showed no consideration towards the fans, he always saw us as the enemy IMO. Perhaps being cynical but that had been my opinion from the first season of shocking home results. Taking that into consideration, I loved watching us away, his set up allowed us to go 18/19/20 games (can't remember) but it was just abysmal home form that let him down.
Well I call him Sock Face because I'd searly like to Sock him in the Face for ruining our season last year.
Actually, that game was 2005, when Mark Lynch got crippled early on, one of the shabbiest games I've seen.
