... been trying to think of some, so far I've come up with Curry, and Beer. I could survive without Football, but without Curry and Beer my life would not be worth living. Your suggestions?
1. Football 2. Sex 3. Beer 4. Mexican Food 5. Indian Food 6. My humungous TV disclaimer: Every two years positions 1 & 2 are reversed close season
The best feeling I've ever had in my life was when Jermaine Beckford scored that late, late winner at Elland Road against you lot. I'm not saying that to look a cock, it's just true. Better than orgasm, boozy antics or even the sort of laughter that makes your whole body hurt. It was just sensational. Maybe if I have a kid/get married, that will cap it, but for me football is number one.
For me football gives you some amazing feelings that are rarer in real life. The feeling of ecstacy when Jackson scored against Derby or pride when Morison equalised at Arsenal etc. are feelings that stay with you. Partly because of all the rubbish we have sat through over the years in the days of the Rodent, Hamilton, Grant etc. In life those moments do come and as serious feelings getting a job I really wanted, the birth of my son and moving into my first place give the same sort of buzz. Artificially beer is pretty good, especially with friends, I also think a great sunday roast is fantastic, I also love any moment of complete release such as singing at the top of my voice or pounding along a deserted road with my favourite music playing. As a soon to be father of two though nothing tops a good night's sleep. You just don't appreciate a lazy, snoozy lay in until you can't have it.
Football has gradually been dropping in my list for a few years now. Many things I enjoy more. Shame really.
Having a threesome with two filthy nurses at Addenbrookes... Or Football? Hmm... that's a difficult one!
Dave i think you must be soooooooooo old emoticon-0126-nerd:. I love City but would not swap for Latin women, hot, passionate and very willing. An old work colleague once said to me " sex, i rather have a steak and kidney pie'' maybe he was a relative of yours. Reduce the malt intake, but some Viagra, you don't know what you are missing
Fortunately I can think of dozens of things, I´d hate to have to rely solely on football for getting my enjoyment, and speaking purely as an ex 1st horn player: any Mahler Symphony Siegfried´s Horn call from the Ring Bruckner´s 4th Symphony any Brahms symphony the wonderful horn solo from Tschaikovsky´s 5th symphony Till Eulenspiegel and Ein Heldenleben by Richard Strauss .............and the list could go on and on and leaving the music department: the northern lights any bird of prey in full flight standing by Niagara Falls star/planet gazing on a moonless winter´s night seeing the ice sculptures north of the arctic circle in Kiruna, Sweden any birth, whether human or animal .............and this list could also go on and on Football is fun, but by no means the be all and end all
Beer and curry need to be up there Thai food too Having children I've got to say too Footy is well well up there The idea of Latino women though, hmmmmm nice
But what sort of curry, PC? Personally I'd go for a vindaloo every time, the best, king prawn being my favourite! Better than a curry tho'. I'd say a chilli, made with the Bhut Jolokia (Ghost) pepper, the hottest (available) pepper in the world, I've bought a few of these badboys off the tinternet, and if you're into seriously hot food, you can't beat them!!
Music tops it for me. Football can send you home ecstatic or completely disconsolate, but somewhere in my collection I've got tunes that are perfectl to deal with all the highs and lows, peaks and troughs created by football - and everything else in life
