Quel 6.30 Curragh - PEDRO THE GREAT 6/4 FROM 7/2 CRISTOFORO COLUMBO 6/5 FROM 1/2 I still like Cristoforo but a strange market
Hhmmm, maybe Ascot's done him in. Maybe Pedro is just the better horse. Neither interests me though at current prices.
Anyone else feel that Camelot is worth taking on tonight?* I'm not saying he isn't the best horse, but 1/5 is far to short a price particularly on heavy ground. I also do not rate the Derby form at all with Worthaad and Astrology letting it down at Ascot.* Born To Sea is the most overrated horse in training, thanks to his famous half brother, and I'd be amazed if he stayed the trip, and Astrology has proven he's just not good enough.* I actually like the look of both Akeed Motheed and Light Heavy, and as there both available at 16/1 I'm going to back both.* Light Heavy gas done nothing wrong this year winning all 3 of his races, including Ireland's main Derby trial. Akeed Motheed was a promosing 2yo, and had decent form on heavy ground, and the fact Oxx has gone to the effort of booking Buick suggests he rates this horse's chances. He could be anything we realy don't know, so at 16s he's worth a bet. *I'm not to worried that Murtagh has snubbed him, as Murtagh often chooses the wrong horse*
Light Heavy he will be off the bridle with 1m left to run. He only just beat Tower Rock Shergar . Come on a form guru like you knows this one has no chance. Any shooooo ins tonight like ?? I am in awful form
My only worry would be the ground but I can't find anything else (apart from Imperial Monarch) that has beaten anything worth mentioning on soft. Very odd that IM was withdrawn, being the one seemingly most suited by the going. I think Camelot will have to hate the going to lose this but, at those odds, it's a watch only.
It's on value grounds RV, there 16/1, and a worth a risk on heavy ground. Plus Bolger and Oxx wouldn't run them if they didn't rate them.* No there are no shoo ins today, I'm Afraid, I don't realy bet so much on heavy going*
Yepp 3 mins. I think CRISTOFORO is the guineas winner next year -gives you more reason to laugh if Pedro beats him here.
I do think Camelot is worth taking on Shergs but sadly not tonight. I have said on many a post that i am not buying the hype about this horse in as much as i think he won a Guineas through being a 12f horse in terrible ground, and whilst you cannot take away from a comfortable victory in the Derby i think it was the worst Derby field for many a year, camelot apart. My fear is that as the pundits have given him such a profile now that he will be protected and retired away without allowing it to be questioned. This does not mean any disrespect to the horse who i thin is a good one, but he is not i feel by any means unbeatable. This is why i agree he should be taken on but not today, i will wait to see if they will enter him in a competative race against older horses at which point i will indeed row in with you and have a go at finding something to beat him.
Did you watch the 6.30 Stick - Cristoforo class turn of foot then nothing near the line strange. Perhaps just not good enough but HTN was a much better 3yo than he was a juvenile
