Good enough if we eventually want to push on and challenge a Europa place that is:

A lot of you may disagree but these are my opinions and are based on what Ive seen this year overall and not just because I'm pissed off about yesterdays shambles.

Danny Simpson: I know a lot of people on here like him and he is alright at times, but the lad simply cannot close players down properly, hes often caught well out of position and going forward is usually non existant, if he doesnt develop any further than what he is now I'd definitely look into replacing the lad. Prove me wrong Danny.

Mike Williamson: While I prefer Mike to Steven Taylor I still dont think he can really cut the mustard at this level, his positional sense at times in shocking, hes very slow and isnt the strongest of defenders, he can be good in the tackle and him and Colo have a decent understanding but I think overall hes not quite good enough for this level and we could do with someone with more physical prescence and agression coming in, in the mould of Chris Samba.

Steven Taylor: Dear lord, I know its a tad harsh because hes only played a handful of games this season but the lad has been truly awful, hes put on a lot of weight in my view but thats not the problem, he just doesnt think about what hes doing, he goes in wrecklessly at times and always looks like losing the ball, hes great in the air usually but on the ground hes been awful, not the player we thought he would turn out to be, not to mention hes injury prone.

Jonas Gutierrez: Works VERY hard most of the time, links up well with Jose and occasionally puts a decent cross in for the big men, but hes just become worse this season overall I think, he just doesnt do enough on a regular basis to warrant a longer stay in the side, and I hope that Ben Arfa is the one to replace him and he tries harder to up his game when theres competition.

Danny Guthrie: Probably one of the better players from yesterday, and I suppose is decent cover in an emergency but I just dont know what kind of player Guthrie is supposed to be, hes not very good defensively and hes usually devoid of any creativity whatsoever, so what is he?

Peter Lovenkrands: Has notched a few goals this season, but to say hes been anything less than garbage overall would be taking the mick, he goes missing for 90% of matches and adds absolutely nothing in most games, I'm not saying Nile has played any better but at least hes young, puts himself about and can improve, Lovenkrands is only going to get worse and worse from now and I think he should be shown the door if the money we hope to be invested is invested.

Shola Ameobi: Probably our joint best striker at the moment along with Best and I like Ameobi, I think when hes fit hes decent at what he does, I think he would be a 10-15 goal a season striker if he could JUST STAY FIT. Hes one of the most injury prone players we've ever had, and often takes a couple of games after each injury to get back into the swing, after all these years he should surely be shown the door, but once again if the money is invested in replacements of course.

Special mentions to Smith and Perch, who really dont need any explanation.

Those are my views I'm sure some will disagree but I'm open to debate, who would be on your list...? Remember I wouldnt want everyone to go right away, but once were strengthed, these would be my guys who bite the bullet.

  2. Jonas should stay. **** crosses but hard worker, works well with defense, passing is good. He should stay to keep squad depth and plays very well if he has competition or off the bench.

Taylor and Williamson for the same reason should stay. Squad players, cover what ever you want to call them.

We should buy a quality CB.

Danny Guthrie is good 75% of his games, and is a good squad players. All these players aren't good enough, but can do well as cover mate.

I would add Ryan Taylor to that list. He is good at crossing, that is all

Ryan Taylor, Danny Guthrie, Peter Lovenkrands and Nile Ranger, though I think Nile Ranger just needs loaning out.

I'd say Simpson has done a solid job this season, not spectacular like Enrique, but solid none the less.

Also, Williamson has his days, but overall I think he is a good cover, but maybe we could improve their, but hardly our most pressing concern so I wouldn't have any problems with him starting next season.

Jonas is an odd one, he worries defenders more than anything I think and against Wolves you saw what he can do, but as you say he doesn't do it on a regular basis but again when HBA is back he would be a fantastic sub to call on imo.

Ameobi has had one of his best seasons in recent past imo, and he's had to.. scored a few decent goals and another team have even been rumored to be interested! I think he's good enough to be a support striker.

Taylor, Guthrie, Lovenkrands, Smith, Perch & Taylor aren't good enough for me.

    That's my opinion anyway.

TBH i actually agree with you on most of these but
I think Simpson will carry on improving

Steven Taylor as you said hasn't played much and i think with a few more matches he will improve. Whether he'll be good enough though still remains to be seen

I like Guthrie and i think that although he isn't that good at the moment, give him a couple of years in the prem because he looks to me like he has decent potential

    Jonas i really like

I agree with most of this but I would keep Williamson, Gutierrez and Guthrie as cover. Williamson can handle most strikers in the air, Gutierrez can be up there with the best wingers in the league when he tries and Guthrie still has time to improve and is a good squad player.

I would also keep Simpson, for the same reason as Guthrie <ok>

Out of them players mentioned I definetly agree about Danny Guthrie, ya no when there is one player you just don't like? well thats him for me - he did well last season and set up lots of goals but sell the **** for me lyk

I like Lovenkrands for some reason, although I would not be bothered if he did go. I don't like Shola but we do need squad players so if we bring in 2 strikers then it would either be Lovenkrands/Shola to go me thinks!

I really like Danny Simpson/Mike Williamson - they have been great buys for us £1.5m together and give 100% every game and I believe Simpson shouls stay as 1st choice right back with Williamson on bench and backup

If we can keep Stevie Taylor fit then he should be number one centre back alongside Colo, perfect partnership for me

And as for Jonas, he is like Marmite - ya either love him or hate him and I love him :) scares **** out of fullbacks every game and has played in every Prem game this season, would keep him on left next season wheter Jose here or not

To be fair I like Ryan Taylor, Danny Guthrie and Peter Lovenkrands but they aren't good enough. Think Taylor and Coloccini should be the centre back pairing though I would like to see a centre half brought it, someone like Samba, though I would also keep Williamson as cover.

For me Jonas is actually a really important part of our team. As well as being very good at dribbling (although admitadly **** at crossing) is work rate is brilliant, especially for a winger. Our 1st choice midfield 4 are Him, Barton, Tiote and Nolan atm. No team wants to play against them, you'll get no time on the ball and if you do hold onto it for too long you can almost gaurentee a hard tackle coming in

Nah not yet, I would loan him out to a championship side, or newly promoted prem side and see what he can do, if he doesnt improve by the end of next season I would think about moving him on.

Might knock him down a peg or two being loaned out aswell, a lot of people saying he thinks hes better than he is.

Completely agree with this. Replace Guthrie with A King from leicester. Taylor with Samba (doubt this highly though) Lover with Gameiro, Perch and Smith can leave or nothing IMO and get Gervinho and Ill be more than happy.

Guti, Simmo, Willo - all champion to me <ok>
    Guthrie's decent on his day.
Saylor is good on form - he just then and goes and gets injured and ****s everything up again.

Lover is good... just not in this league (or country probably. he'd probably be semi-decent in a slower paced league)
Shola is the king of the Championship

agree with most. Would not have Taylor and Ameobi there though would show Ameobi the loyalty he has shown us and as for Saylor when he sorts his weight problem out which I reckon will go all the way back to Carroll breaking his jaw, he will be a cracking player for us for years to come.

    Agent Badger!

And Asprillas Fur Coat has yet to be invited into the official A Team not606 group. More than welcome, obviously.
Plus, it's effort to go and change it.
