And that's another thing, I dont know about you but Im convinced 50% of the people going werent even fans. I have genuinley heard people getting excited about attending who have never once mentioned the Roses before, Ive never known listen to the Roses and normally attend Take That concerts. Im convinced they heard about the reformation, thought it was something they should probably be in to, hurredly downloaded The Second Coming (thinking it was their only album) and then claimed to be superfans.

I'm not critisicing anyone on here btw, Im sure you're all fans, but I bet you'll come across people like that at the gigs.

Well listen to the albums then. Or go and see Mozz live as he usually throws a good 5 Smiths songs into his set these days.

It's all about money. I don't blame them. Didn't they get ripped off by their manager and recording contract ?
People say things and change their minds. Money talks.

Alot of people are thrilled they are playing concerts again. Maybe they weren't around or old enough to see them last time around.
I wonder if The Smiths will ever reform ?

FFS bum-chinned crab, people change their minds in life don't they? if they'd just reformed for money it might have turned out crap, going through the motions.. hut it wasn't and neither was heaton park by the report.. they've still got it..

the bit about younger fans is probably true, but does that mean my generation (I'm 40) can't like the Beatles or the kinks? just cos we never saw them..

The Stone Roses espoused a sort of unwritten anti capitalism, anti greed, anti wealth, anti ripping off of their fans.

Like most prominent groups of any generation, they celebrated youth and scorned doing things for the wrong reasons in their interviews.

Squire walked out on them and Brown was adamant that they would never repeat never reform.

Then they reformed and proved themselves to be full of wind.

    Are you normally this angry?

    Anyway, I will. Sorry.

I now realise the error of my ways.

Well, I don't actually. I reckon it's easier this way though.

That's because they had no money at the time.

Then they made money, spent it all and now they want some more, it's the way the world works.

And anyone who doesn't rate Strummer knows **** all about music anyway. <ok>

Agree with Bum Chinned. You can spot the bandwagoners, they're the ones who are suprised that Ian Brown "Doesn't sing that well live".

Strummer was one of the most influential musicians of his time and his legacy is still embedded in new music today.
Jesus , the Clash gave us a sound when everyone was listening to the carpenters , Elton John , Wings and Cream .

I think you completely miss the point of what Strummer and others achieved but its staring you in the face everyday . arrrghhh !

I guess there isn't only me who loves the Stone Roses but isn't all that fussed on the reunion tour. Everyone's wishing for Spike Island pt. 2 at Heaton Park I think.
