Depressed.

Feeling in a very negative mood about my beloved NUFC at the moment, beaten again at Villa Park in the same spineless and gutless fashion as the relegation season...Talks of Enrique being sold to Liverpool, Barton doesnt seem to want to sign a new contract, and the next game at home to League leaders Man Utd....

With about 2 wins in 12 games things arent looking too good, I know its our first season back and everyone would have been happy with 17th at start but I cant help but feel we are going to sell our best players in the summer and replace them with sub standard ones.

It will all come down to relying on Hatem Ben Arfa too much and who even knows if he will be the same after his injury.

Anyone want to point out some positives that I'm missing and put a decent spin on things, because im feeling sick at the minute.

Edit: Andy Carroll's two goals arent lifing my spirits either, we miss him so much on the pitch, still hurts to see him in red.

 

We have Lua Lua, Gosling & HBA back from injury which is like 3 new signings. That's all I can think of i'm afraid!

After the game i walked up stairs and got a text from my mate, pulled out my iphone and dropped it down the stairs and cracked the screen. Imagine how bad a mood that puts you in when you've just watched one of the worst games of football ever

 

Positives?

Ireland might make his long-awaited debut.
Ben Arfa might be a sub at the Blackpool game.
Villa beat our reserves. We had Nolan, Tiote, Best, Ameobi, Ireland and Ben Arfa out.
Guthrie had a decent game(first half mostly).
Colo can play in midfield if needed.

 

Could be worse, could have been born a mackem and watch Agent Bruce take them apart, down the table you go.

 

we are 9th in the table, were doing good with man utd next we will hope to at least get a draw.

 

Don't say we will rely on HBA too much, Comolli stalks these boards and signs any player we think is half decent.

James Perch is the best player we have...

I know, where would we be without Perch and Smith this season. I really hope a big club challenged for the top 5 don't come in for them in the summer

 

It looks like Ashley's gamble to sell Carroll has been great (for him) as he can soon sell Barton and Enrique, balance the books, with us staying the Premiership, and then sell the club in the summer.

 

This was always going to be a rough season for us. It's our first one back in the premiership, and that's naturally going to have its up's and down's as we sort ourselves out. Just look at our first transfer window before the season. I've never seen such a short shoestring in my life.

However, as the season rolls to a close, we'll know who wanted to leave, who wanted to stay and we'll have a better idea of the situation we're in (along with a lot of cash), so we can build up over summer and start the new season as a stable and established EPL side.

 

If he can make 15 million out of Enrique and 5 from Barton that 55 million, and I'm sure 60 million is the usual average cost of relegation. He will have made up the money, wouldnt surprise me if he starts offering Tiote to clubs to see if he can make 20 million profit aswell.

 

I'd hope more than 5 for Barton...

 

We were 17mill down from the relegation season (recenst BBC scaremongering article - 'Newcastle United in debt' or something), but will have easily made that back being in the Prem and the sale of Carroll.

NO, not capitals. Comolli has an auto alerter that warns him when you use capitals, and so now he'll sign Tiote!!!
