With jokes likes this we havent a prayer!!

    .....

I am currently (trying to) clear out my office..... I have 19 years of tools of my trade: 100s of whiteboards markers, paper, envelopes, i have found more pairs of scissors than i thought possible... and i could never find them when I needed them.... old stamps, unposted letters, old photos, lost student work.... I do not exaggerate.... I am amazed at the junk in this office.... quite pleasing to chuck it all out.....

I understand. We all went through that process after the first earthquake. I chucked out heaps of stuff. Now my office is back to its usual mess

I know the feeling, Yorkie...did the same myself 6/7 years ago now. For reasons I cannot now account for the many pairs of scissors came with me and so we still have 7 or 8 unused pairs in various drawers around the house. It does mean you never have to go far to lay your hands on a pair...

But the trouble with scissors is, you can never find a pair when you have just pulled a strip of sellotape off...

If the phrases "Watford FC takeover latest" and "American cheerleaders" don't convince you to listen to 3CR from 4pm, nothing ever will.

It is very quiet on here this evening/morning. I can only assume the weather is good and you are all out partying.
It is cold, wet and grey here.

A friend of ours has just been told by the authorities that her undamaged house has been condemned because engineers say that the hills above cannot be made safe from rock fall. 560 days out from the big earthquake and people are still losing their houses.

Its a friday lol NZ. Everyone with half a social life will be out partying.

Thats horrible. It must be devastating to have to move out like that.

That is quite dreadful NZ, to think that you have been one of the lucky ones, then be confronted with that.

We have been getting into summer mode in France, with afternoon temperatures up in the 30's. However it did not look that good in the UK with storms, huge hail stones and flooding. Like your friend out there, natural disasters can play havoc with people's lives.

Just before our house in England went up for sale, a jar fell off the window cill into the bath. It took a chip of the enamel off leaving a black mark. Rather than leave it like that for possible viewers I filled the area with tippex. Needing to still use the bath I was amazed to find that it stuck like glue and never disappeared down the plug hole. <cool>

Morning all, a busy day ahead with watering duties needed now as it was very hot yesterday afternoon.

The Tour de France starts today and while looking to see what coverage there would be on French TV I discovered that one channel is showing the womens tennis Final from Wimbledon this afternoon. I think they may just a bit ahead of themselves. <laugh>

Just been for a swim in the Gloucester swimming pool, I found out earlier this week that the Mali or Malawi Olympic squad are using the facilities for training leading up to next month! well in the next lane to me today was one of the swimmers. Jesus H Christ talk about fast, I have never see anything move through the water that fast! I doubt if they will come anywhere in the Games, but never the less he was fast!!!
