    Your missing the point,when Owen said what he did he had no reason to.

    He could have said LFC and their staff have been very good to me and taught me so much etc etc.
    But he chose to make a snide remark instead,plus as has been said we lost money on him because he ran his contract down on purpose.

    Ince won more for Utd than a Carling Cup so there's no comparison.

    Knowing full well how you guys react ( not you directly ) I would guess burning shirts and other ****ed up **** happened when he left. Probably got threats aswell. Not sure but its how you react to a few players going. The more important they are the more insane the reaction can become.

    Also wasnt he annoyed about Houlier being sacked? Maybe like most people he thought Rafa was a ****. He would of been right. It was Rafa who came after the frenchman wasnt it?

  6. Heinze was told he was no longer part of the first team and could move on if he didn't want to be a squad player. If theory, Liverpool offering him a chance is very much like Man Utd offering Owen a chance <ok>

    Tevez is indeed a **** <ok>

    I don't see the Ronaldo and Owen link at all. You guys got £80m for Ronaldo because he signed a new contract to stay for one more year. Owen ran his contract down before insisting he wanted to go. Ok, the club (well, Rick ****ing Parry!) can be partly blamed here too. Ronaldo didn't come through the Man Utd ranks either.

    I don't blame Owen for going, we looked **** at the time and had just changed manager so it was anticipated that it would take time for things to turn around. Owen did say he wanted to go abroad at some point too. I think the main problem people have is that he went whilst still so young rather than giving "his" club a couple more years <ok>

  7. Not! Part of the reason he was never seen in the same light as Fowler, McManaman, Carragher or Gerrard is because he was more interested in playing for England. Owen could be out injured for a month and return to play for England, then come back injured again. If you're being paid by a club who are doing all they can to get you fit then you repay that faith by being loyal and playing for that club!

    The ronaldo link was down to the fact he didnt make it a Owen v Liverpool thing like Tevez did. They moved on unlike some players. Maybe things were said but nothing to be considered ****ish on the Tevez scale.

    Heinze could of gone anywhere, we would never sell direct to you and vice versa. Heinze was aware of this and most player on earth are. Very few players lack the respect to move direct to a rival these days.

    UIR. you comments clearly demonstrate that you don't know and therefore cannot understand what happened to Owen when he left Liverpool and why there is almost universal distaste amongst Redmen for his actions. It has nothing to do with him joining United - the majority of us thought that it was not only farcical but also par for the course for that individual.

    All of the statistics show that he should have been a Liverpool idol but he is not considered as such. Therefore you have to ask yourself why? The most popular answer to that is just sheer greed and ingratitude. The club nurtured Michael Owen from his early youth, they developed his skills and gave him all of the support and opportunities that he could wish for. They also paid him well for his services. Yet Owen, due to his character (or the lack of it) deliberately chose to run his contract down so that he could benefit from making a move that he wanted whilst pocketing the majority of the fee. He did not care that he owed the club big time. As far as I am aware nobody threatened him in any way. There was just universal distaste about the way he went about leaving.

    Therefore, if he appears to be treated with a lack of respect, it only appears to us to be a comical payback time.

  10. Burning of shirts happens at all clubs since every club has ****ed up dumb wits that will do anything to get on TV. Hell, I wouldn't even be surprised if the reporters provided the shirt or the person burning it wasn't an actual Liverpool fan, some people will do anything for money. Who is to say the people filmed aren't homeless guys that the reporter's bribed...? Not saying this is what happens, just that what you see may not actually be the case <ok>

    Edit: when Rafa was appointed he flew out to whereever the England squad where at the time to meet up with Gerrard, Carragher and Owen. All three where happy with Rafa's appointment and told Rafa they were looking forward to playing for him. I've not heard this from Rafa or Owen but I have read it in both Gerrard's and Carragher's books, both of which are good mates with Michael <ok>

    While at Liverpool he gave everything to the club, won several trophies, was voted the best player in europe and scored goals for fun. He certainly repaid the hard work liverpool put in to him on the pitch.

    Granted he may of left on bad terms and yes I dont fully understand but then do Liverpool fans? Who knows what was said behind the scenes. Maybe he fell out with board members, or like I said he didnt like Rafa, few do to be fair. Liverpool could of played hard ball and kept him for a season longer and benched him all season so they still had some power.

    Had Gerrard left for Chelsea when he had the chance would he of been disliked or even hated like Owen is? Owen before Gerrard was the player who your opponents feared, the game changer, the match winner.

  12. Maybe so, but Fowler was always the fans favourite, not Owen <ok>

    We have tried to answer your question reasonably. It is clear that you do not accept our rationale for the way that we feel about Owen (note: there are no Redmen here giving a contrary opinion) so why not let it drop?

    I was right his huge ego wont let him play at the standard he currently is. No PL will take him, his wages will be too high, hasnt played for two years and is a huge injury risk. Why would a PL take the risk on a has been 32yr old

    @themichaelowen
    ...........As I've previously said, my next club will either be abroad or in The Premier League.

    @themichaelowen
    Not being disrespectful when saying I wouldn't play in The Championship. Always said I wouldn't drop down the leagues like some have done.

    @themichaelowen
    I know I can still bang them in at the top level. I proved that nearly every time I played for Man Utd. At 32, still got a few years in me.

    He's still aiming high by the looks of things. Lets see where he lands.

    I'm with you mate. Owen's decisions should not be ignored just because they were a few years ago - and should be an example for people with infalted ego's, greed, and lack of loyalty.

    I'm loving his plight to be quite honest!

    He says he won't play in the Championship because he's too good and he's willing to wait for a better deal. Mad looking through his stats to see large periods without playing games, let alone free agent at only 32!!

    Blokes a tosser.
