I can't see how Everton could foot their half of the bill unless Liverpool & Everton worked together to get a joint naming partner (that would also stop any petty arguments over stadium name - No-one want's to see Andison Park or Goodfield)

If that park of the logistics got sorted then I think this would be an amazing thing to happen to the city. You'd see the areas around and within those football grounds transformed in to much better areas and Liverpool would have a prime venue to live events. If we take away our rivalry (which in recent years has simmered slightly) and looked at the bigger picture. you'd see this would help the city of Liverpool enormously

Major problem to me, and this may seem trivial to others is the colour of the stadium. By that I mean seats etc.

I dont think we would accept a shared stadium that was not red and I dont think everton would accept playing in a stadium that was all red. If it was a neutral colour it just wouldn't feel right to either team

    Bozz,

There is absolutely no imperative for Liverpool to consider such an action. The true gain could only assist Everton. However, I strongly doubt that Everton have the financial backing to meet the costs of such a proposal.

Now, the council may like to see such a development. However they are not promoting any plans to make it come about. Whereas John Henry has talked about how his vision of a refurbished Anfield could provide a major venue for both supporters and the local community.

They could do what they do in the san siro and have half and half or the Alliann where the club colours are displayed surrounding the stadium with grey seating.

If we fill it, who's going to see the seats anyway??

  6. Although they said they were going to explore the idea when they first arrived, FSG said shortly afterwards that they won't consider it because the fans don't want it...end of <ok>

PS - if there is one thing we do know about FSG, its that they're honest <ok>

Reversible seats would solve the issue.

When we play we turn them all to red.
When Everton play they turn whatever seats they occupy blue.

There'll be an awful lot of red "unturned" <laugh>

  8. May as well keep them blue. The seats would be occupied when Liverpool are at home but when Everton are...<whistle>

I really would like this to go ahead. Regardless of local rivalry Everton and Liverpool both have proud histories. I would love to see the day of Liverpool and Everton dominating the league rather than city and united. I doubt a new stadium would have that big an impact but it would go a long way to helping both clubs. Being from the city, it would also be good to see a mojor footballing/ sports ground in the city. At the moment we have nothing that can compare to manchester, birmingham or london. The benafits of a ground share to me, by far out way any petty rivally. Considering we are neighbours there is generally a good deal of respect and friendly banter between the fans. I have friends and god forbid family that are blue, and we do argue but nothing like the bile that gets spouted when we deal with united.
The Ground would be good for the clubs and city. All we have to do it put aside our differences.

I totally disagree. I would prefer to see a re-furbished Anfield and let Everton take care of themselves.

Its not about 1 team a Above the other. Both teams would benafit. A refurnished anfield can only go so far. But a new ground with less cost due to sharing would benafit both clubs and importantly it would more than benafit the local area and the city itself. Rather than a redevoloped anfield - a new sports ground that could be used for international events. Any body who has been to anfield can see the area surrounding the ground and goodison as well could do with a major cash injection.

  13. No at all, the have not brought false promises and they have not gone back on anything they have said. They have openly spoke about the situation when speaking in public and have even got fans involved again. I have absolutely no reason to question their honesty <ok>

I could easily argue with the second part of that statement Baz but I can't be arsed this morning. I will just agree with you that yes they did under promise <ok>

I agree with your view on our owners mate, but lets assume we're wrong and they are here for the long haul and do have our clubs best interest at heart and a vision of a successful future.
FSG are not rich enough to do a Roman or Sheikh Mansour at LFC,LFC were'nt in the sound financial state Utd were when the Glazers took over at OT.
They got LFC for a good price, cleared the debt and openly admit they didn't and still haven't got a clue about running a football club.
They have 'soccer' advisors over there and here that pointed them in a direction of buying young English players, having a director of football, not going for the option of a new build stadium.
They are trying to run LFC on the same type of model as the RedSox which they see as successful and getting value for their 'buck' by being careful with their money, yet the RedSox have started going backwards again in their refurbished Fenway Park museum.
You pointed out on another thread their net spend on players and it could be argued that BR's targets will be far cheaper than if a high profile manager had got the job and thats why BR is our manager,We got left behind at the beginning of the Premier League when we stayed in the bootroom era and if FSG aren't careful we'll fall further behind if they dont make some radical decisions and money spending to try and put us on a level playing field with the top clubs.

Back on topic,When Everton thought they could get a brand new state of the art stadium for nothing on the Kings Dock they never offered to share but since they got knocked back they all of a sudden were looking to share a new build with us.
Their skint and still want something for nothing.

Funny you should mention that when your average attendance at home in Europa was 25,000.........

Wonder how many prawn sarnies will be sold when United join us in the Europa League after you fail to qualify for the knock-out stages of the CL?

I just love the way united boys know all our figures e.g. attendance in a comp they have no interest in.

Can you really not see how sad that is?

I mean seriously! I wouldn't have the first clue how many goals you lot scored in your last match never mind how many of your sad lot trudged ever so briefly into watch you get put out of Europe for the second time in a year.

I just find it funny how Liverpool fans have fantasies about having a stadium the size of Utd`s, when in truth you regularly fail to fill one half the size for European games.

You really should do your homework before making silly comments! Just read back in the thread and you will find that the demand has been proven to exist as evidenced by both the studies that the club have undertaken and the size of the season ticket waiting list,
