Wouldn't that be cool?? i loved the Danish hummel kit from the early 80's and if things go well with Laudrup it could be quite lucritive with many Hummel outlets in Denmark, home of Laudrup! following on from the story that over a million people tuned in to watch the tv documentary about the Swans im sure there will be a great oppurtuinity to sell shirts over there, hummel are a popular brand in Denmark and it would mean we could shift extra shirts with a better offer than addidas came up with Hummel dont have any Football league clubs on their books (at least not ccc and prem league) so it would be a great bit of buisness by us and them,im sure we could squeeze more out of them than addidas . It s all if's but's and maybe's i know but it would not suprise me if Laudrup is a success the Danish company will seek to move in and topple addidas. Thoughts about a left field topic !!
Except that we are only a year in on the Adidas contract, think its for 3 years. And the idea is that they are global brand and they expectations of us riding the back of that
We are into our second year of that deal if i remember correctly. As for globel brand, well im not so sure addidas care too much about that, as of yet ive not seen any swans stuff for sale in international airports or indeed internationally, im not saying there is a market for our shirt but i am saying that being with a big hitter can sometimes see you being marginalised in favour of the cash cows (real madrid etc, etc) Its just a **** about topic anyway but i would bet that hummel would pay more for a middle premier league club like swansea than addidas would, but only with the laudrup links attached of course
I would think that, that may well come up in the minutes of our board room, some time soon, you could be on to a winner there Norway!...............
We're missing something here guys. Can you see the swans selling merchandise anywhere else than the club shop or debenhams? You'd think they might want to sell them in other sports outlets like other clubs do. We're just not that forward thinking yet. hopefully things will change eventually.
That at least would be the beauty of the hummel deal, the shirts would sell themselves in scandanavia with laudrup's tika taka boys the fresh young bright new hope !! Addidas is worn everywhere and we would never get a market share with our merc. its all standard template stuff for a start! Hummel would want to be a part of a Danish influenced swansea city and i would think they would pay handsomely to do it, all hypothetically speaking of course but we would sell shirts in Denmark where as now we sell shirts in Tesco and the club shop
As much as I loved the Hummel kit ......I reallly really LOVE my new white/gold Adidas top LUSH IT IS!!!
Stay up next year and we not only get the extra payouts from the TV rights, but the position to choose (rather than beg like a few years ago!)
...but Adidas kits are always the best looking - simple as that. Imagine having something as bad as Reebok.
I've always wanted us to be with Adidas since we were with them when I was a kid. Adidas kits always look the best. I wanna stay with them. Personally I hated the Hummel kit - looked cheap as chips.
Really ? i loved the hummel kit. We have done the Addidas stuff now ! time to move on to Hummell, patrick,le coq sportif , new balance, admiral and bergoni ... I posted the origional thread back in June, there aresome intresting points made back then that are quite relevent now i reckon
I would like us to have suppliers and a commercial team that can manage the supply. Running out of stock before Christmas is unforgivable! Having no more strips in stock after Jan is just madness
