Basically, if the SFL reject fast tracking NewCo into Division One, Neil Doncaster will form an SPL2.

The old Rangers were corrupt and now this trumpet wants to corrupt our game to accommodate the NewCo(orruption).

Scottish football is a ****ing laughing stock.

If the SFL decide to reject, will the reason not have been that a majority of SFL clubs have voted to do so? If that is the case what clubs are going to be playing in an SPL2 - apart from Newco?

The Scottish Premier League have warned they will form a breakaway second tier if plans to put Rangers in the First Division are not approved by clubs.

STV understands a number of sides in the Scottish Football League have been told they face being cut adrift from the top tier if they do not agree to proposals for league reconstruction.

Plans emerged on Thursday which would see the merger of both the SPL and SFL, the introduction of play-offs and a change to financial distribution between clubs in the top two tiers.

Central to the suggestions is the SPL finding means to relegate Rangers from their league, meaning they would play First Division football next season as a new company.

If they do not gain the approval of clubs, it is understood the long-mooted SPL2 could be created, with SFL First Division sides invited to join.

    Rangers

Charles Green’s new company is attempting to have the SPL member share transferred from the old business. An 8-4 majority vote of the league’s 12 clubs is required and is due to be held on July 4.

However, seven top flight clubs have already said they will not give their approval, meaning Rangers’ share will be returned to the league.

The onus now falls on the 30 clubs of the SFL to agree to a new financial and sporting package, which would see Rangers play in the First Division in the 2012/13 season.

Plans include a £1m payment to the league for the SPL to broadcast matches involving the Ibrox club, as well as a redistribution of revenue to give more money to First Division clubs.

SPL sources also claim having Rangers in the second tier would add a combined £2m onto the gates of the other nine First Division clubs, a claim which has not been backed up with evidence.

A play-off would also be brought in between the top two leagues, with the side finishing 11th in the SPL taking on the sides placed second, third and fourth in the First Division.

Any Rangers newco would also be forced to accept any sporting sanctions relating to outstanding investigations into the oldco, as well as paying off all football debt.

SFL clubs will meet on Tuesday to discuss the plans, although a vote will not be taken at the meeting.

    SPL2

Should the SFL clubs reject the plans, the SPL will push ahead with plans to form a second tier which would include the newco Rangers.

First Division clubs would be invited to join the new division, reducing the numbers in the SFL and cutting off the promotion and relegation link between the two bodies.

Reading a lot of Celtic fans opinion on this, they better watch what they wish for .This deal is the one that keeps sky Happy , like it or not Celtic need sky to cover Scottish football . We've had 4/5 months of fun with Rangers, they are now so heavily weakened they will not be a danger to us for many a year . The most important thing now is Scottish football moves on , for everybody sake including Celtic . So far we've not signed anyone including the goalie , the situation of Scottish football is not helping us .

I understand what you're saying but think of it this way:

They play one season in the 1st division or SPL2, probably win the title and get promoted and return to the SPL with a young and confident squad and are DEBT FREE.

We've got potentially champions league football for 3/4 years. Celtic should not be worried about Rangers for the foreseeable future,a poor damaged Rangers would be fun for a minted Celtic to play with . We've got to be careful we don't damage Scottish football and Celtic become a victim of this mess .

How many times do they need to be told. Stop making up rules to help rangers.

I thought they were meant to be listening to the fans. I think it is quite clear what the fans think should happen, including the rangers fans.

If this comes to pass it's over, with all due respect to Harrys points.

They're going to have to offer a **** load of refunds to those who were duped into buying season tickets.

Could it be that the SPL might get the SFA clubs' backs up with this seemingly fait accompli and the veiled threat to cut many of them adrift if they don't agree to their proposals? If that does happen and the SFA clubs stick together then there is sweet f...k all the SPL can do about it. Presumably, though, discussions have been ongoing behind the scenes before these plans were publicised so maybe it's all mostly been agreed already?

Any Celtic fan that hands back his season ticket back now is no Celtic fan . As I said earlier Celtic will end up the victim here , I know it's wrong but Scottish football could die without the 80 million from sky .

They can say what they want Eric but Celtic have yet to speak. Celtic are by far away the strongest voice in Scottish football at the minute with there being no Rangers. I can't see them snubbing the fans. Celtic fans are not split like Rangers fans. Celtic know that if they go against what the fans want then they may as well shut the place up.

    Interesting few weeks ahead.

So people should forget about sport for money Harry?

If 'Rangers' get away with this then Scottish football is no better than WWE.

If sky aren't there then we can do our own TV channel with 100% of the money going into the Scottish game.

This notion it will be the death of Scottish football is pure propaganda by the Campbell Ogilivie run SFA. Teams survive relegation every year. This is greed over integrity, pure and simple.

The majority of Rangers fans know this and are against it in fairness.

True, but for a very perverse reason though. Although if there season ticket boycott continues this might become academic anyway.

    Good for a laugh this.

Erm we told you all before the takeover who craig whyte was and what he would do. **** news spreads fast in the south side of Glasgow. I think we know now why Walter was late with his bid. He's probably waiting at home with his ham radio, wondering if he's going to be successful.

Cardy man to whyte... come in whyte....

EDIT: sorry seems the thread has been pulled. Was basically a rangers fan claiming that lawwell and Regan both knew Craig whyyte was not a fit and proper person to run a club and about 10 pages of good on ye.

    Duh, you don't say.

Watch this space for further developments as he may not be paying any taxes as well. :cheesy:

http://forum.rangersmedia.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=224502 ******ometer is going of the scale in this one too.
