I've just seen the pitch layout for the game against Roma (also owned by a partner within FSG) at Fenway this summer and it did make me chuckle

I ****ing hate when they in the baseball stadiums, it is just not made for footy, they have to bring new grass in and cover the dirt, the seating is all funky as well.

Why couldn't they fit the pitch further into the SW corner? looks like it'd fit. At the moment there are some truly awful viewing angles!

I'd assume that they are setting up a platform to film the game just back from the half way line facing the stands.

If they were filming it from the usual media suite behind the home plate it would look like you were watching Fifa '95 on Demo mode

  7. This may be a silly question but, why are baseball ground only three quarters complete...? If it is because of where the batter is hitting the ball than what about left handers and why do we see complete ground at Cricket...????

I think I am wrong on this but I think it is a "warning track" so if you are chasing back you see dirt you know you are about to smash into a wall. YOu can probably look it up but I ****ing hate baseball so don't knwo all of the terminology. :/

  9. I don't like baseball either, hence me just asking <laugh>

Surely they could still have the dirt bit in front of fans...? There is a massive waste of space that could be seats meaning more fans and income.

Not sure on that one, The space you are talking about it like homeplate and the pitchers mound and that area right?

  11. I mean from the far left to where the McDonalds sign is.

The part with no seating on this pick...
(to the right of the pitch if your Liverpool attacking the Roma end)

ya ya, I see it now. Both sides really, could pay some top dosh for those seats as well!

Probably the benchs and warm up area I would think with that massive wall behind.

I think thats kept for luxury seats with excellent views. I think those are the "green monster" seats Bluff refers to.

Not the baseball benches ( dugouts) but where the teams playing will have their benches by the green wall. With the space to warm up behind. At least I think that is what they would do.

I think that's part of it, but I think it's also so they don't have to drive the machine things that fix up the dirt over the grass.
