    What a f*cking bore, apart from a spell in the first half when Portugal had a go the match was a disgrace. The object is to score a goal but Spain clearly weren't taking any chances in case they might concede one. It may be technically excellent to string twenty odd passes together and get nowhere but playing without a recognised striker and not bringing one on when they got nowhere is bizarre.

    Spain will do to the game the same as the Italians with their 'catenaccio' system that strangled football in the 60s and 70s. At least the Germans go out to score so I'll be cheering the Krauts on from here. Only upside was seeing Ronaldo's miserable face at the end...
