It's understandable that it's slipped some people's mind that our manager has a big fat head, once you've had Dowie as manager anybody looks good in the press conferences by comparison.
Q) "Now, where were we, oh yes. Our 'obsession' with your players, show me how we're 'obsessed', thankyou" A) "we had bids rejected for Koren, Stewart and Chester" + "As far as i'm aware this is the first bid for any of your players this summer." You don't need me, you seem to have all the answers.
I think Koren is the only player we have a chance of getting but not for 500K. Steve Bruce wants his own players in to add to the young players they have. Koren is an ageing player who Bruce will be able to cash in on allowing him to get one of his own players in
Rather than thinking they can get him for that price I think the bid is more likely a desire to bring Heskey home, and seeing unsettling us just before we talk to him as being a good way of removing some of the competition (which we wouldn't be anyway if it weren't for Bruce having managed him before).
Bruce will have money to bring in his own players without having to sell first, Bruce wouldn't have signed if not.
But Bruce has said he has no intention of selling his best players so I think that just because Koren is ageing, probably won't make him anymore likely to leave. Unless Bruce can find a suitable replacement for that position, I doubt it will happen. And in regards to the earlier posts about Leicester being obsessed with our players, you may not have made a big for every single one, but players such as Rosenior, Chester, Koren, Stewart and Evans have all been linked with Leicester about potential offers. Some even have had offers, Stewart had 2 bids from Pearson turned down in January last year, Koren looks to also have a bid rejected. He does seem to have a slight love for them players.
So an obsession is one bid for each? Since when is that an obsession? I know you'd like to think a bigger club like ours is obsessed with you, but it's clear we're not.
I think a lot of people always seem to miss the point here...if the player wants out ,whats the point in trying to keep an unhappy player? They never really give of their best (with a very few exceptions)..once their heads somewhere else.......... for a manager or chairman to say he won't sell is foolish..
Source please. Which of our players has said they want out? Koren's agent has made one comment which wasn't even attributed to his client.
Future plans to upgrade the KC to approximately 38,000 would make our Stadium bigger than yours would it not? None of our players apart from Stewart look as though their heads were turned. Chester loves it here, Rosenior has family here and loves the fans, Koren scores on a regular basis AND gets played where he prefers to play, not on the wing like Pearson insisted he played, and Stewart just saw a dip in form which was coincidentally after Pearson made a bid, key word being coincidentally It might be because his head had turned, or because he had just come back from a 9 month injury and was running on adrenaline when he ripped teams apart such as Derby and Leicester. Therefore, if they wanted to leave, the Allams would probably let them. Or it's the media being the media and pouncing on any possible interest relating to two Clubs who have seen a manager leave to another and then return?
Surely you must realise the old saying empty vessels make most noise is not true - You could make your stadium a 100,000 seater, it will only serve to prove your fan base and potential is very poor
Not when there are plans in place to upgrade ours to 42,000 and then compare our relative histories to see which club is bigger. Enjoy your trips in a major European football competition to Atletico Madrid and Red Star Belgrade did you??
Cant be arsed to read most the posts but that point is pretty much a non starter. It's not like Nigel will have spent full days for weeks writing out a 10,000 page million word bid for Koren, he'd have spent 30 seconds picking up the phone and having a conversation like this "Hello it's flat top, I'll give ya £500k for Koren" - "**** off" - beep. Hardly wasted half his life doing it has he?
Once we get back in the prem is the main part of that sentence. Must feel like you've wasted an eternity with Millions splashed around, and still no real progress towards the Premiership? Should the improvement happen, I'm fairly confident that we would get at least 33,000 Home supporters in. Boothferry Park was 15,000 capacity, yet we managed to cram 50,000 plus into there.
