well done gareth, great news, hope that shuts the goons & chavs up about losing him because we're not in the CL,it's only temporary.
Beat you to it last week, SY "I am not 100% confident that DL will necessarily get the right man (and I certainly do not want AVB purely on but-instinct), merely confident that from a financial POV I cannot see the club suddenly chasing success with a cheque book - be that for players or manager. Of course that may be small comfort when we see Neil Warnock leading us out at Newcastle!!" Have to say that, as mentioned above, if the AVB appointment is now a done deal and he has the ability to influence the positive decisions of players around contracts and transfers, then I will support that decision. Roll on Sunday....
Definitely, this is the second summer in a row he's known we won't have CL football next season yet he's more than happy to stay, albeit with a payrise. I'm sure he'll leave one day but it's nice to see a player with his feet on the ground, recognising that the best thing for him right now is to be playing regularly in a team that gives him freedom to play in his favourite position.
Well pleased with this - big grin on my face when I saw the news earlier. With all the speculation, it almost feels like a new signing!
Great news for us..we needed some..and well done GB....now hopefully all them tossers from other teams who were predicting a mass exodus and especially Bale going can plan for a mass exodus from their derriers when Bale terrorises them next season. COYS!
love it goons & chavs predicted an exodus from us, yet they are both are selling more players than us!
Damn you Relayer, I can't read every post on here Has anyone mentioned the possibility of David O'Leary taking over? Or Ian Dowie? Jesus, imagine Dowie took over, our order of managers would have been: The Bad, The Good and the Ugly
Lets have no more talk of crap managers, we'll end up with McClaren otherwise! Edit: Or worse, Southgate
Really? I thought Southgate was scapegoated a bit at Middlesbrough, definitely not as bad as some managers. Not that I'd want him at Spurs But didn't he make Downing look human enough to make us look into buying him? Back before we had any form of left midfielder, I can't even remember who played then, maybe Kranjcar or Lennon. Which reminds me that Bentley was our no.1 right hand sider at the same time. Which nullifies all argument above.
We were also looking at Capel for awhile and I don't think he made much of himself either. Southgate was lucky to get a full season in my eyes, let alone 3 years!
He was in management?! Ian Walker had a stint with some Sunday league team didn't he? Given the support he was given for the best Spurs keeper in the Premier League era vote, I think he might get fan backing to take over
Nah, I think he's earning more than most teams are earning as a Goalkeeper coach in China Ahhh well, the fan's choice rarely does get chosen.
Bale - Thank **** for that...that is all. AVB - Things aren't going well for me at all, so with this news its all I can do to not slit my wrists! (I'll have no problem holding my hand up if wrong)
