Welbeck was our best Striker, so not all Man Utd players played bad. I see Ashely Young and Ashely Cole got racisly abused on twitter. And people were having ago at Ukraine about racism.
Strange how the "culprit that must e found" is always a united player isn't it? The team were ****e in possession even when Rooney wasn't playing, England were just lucky to not be playing against a team that didn't exploit that. Lucky still that the Italians look like they can't finish their dinners. Had England progressed and met the Germans, England would have been destroyed. With or without Rooney. Because the team as a WHOLE did not perform. The whole team is accountable for that shoddy display, simple as.
I did point out that both Gerrard and Lampard have suffered the same fate when England have performed poorly. It's just the nature of the England supporters egged on by a **** stirring media that brings about the criticism and the abuse. Fairness and rationality have absolutely nothing to do with it.
I was saying to one of the lads before the Ukraine game that the media were only building him up so they can tear him back down when we get knocked out. Our media is so predicable.
I thought England did as much as everyone expceted them to do considering how poor the squad was compared to the top nations and I think there are some positive signs for the future.
Why did you practically say Young's penalty was better ergo thinking it more worthy than Cole's. Oh and no, it isn't quantom physics.
Scholes was played in wrong position and England have only once ever beaten a big side in a Competition away from Wembley: Argentina 2002, Beckham the scorer. Can't blame a few players for an entire history of failure away from home. Bruce never played for England. Giggs never made it to a tournament. Nice try.
If we're going to be so pedantic about it, surely Cole's was better as it was on target and at least had a chance of going in.
correct, if England did somehow manage to go through they would be embarrassed by the Germans,im sure Germany must of been watching and hoping for an England win at penalties because England ain't strong. The Germans would of destroyed England.
that stupid, why would any player just simple tap it in soo slow like the keeper's blind, even if the keeper was 2-3 seconds late to dive, he still would of tapped it away, thats how weak the shot was. I remember people making fun of Berbatov's pen against Everton when he just done a weak tap in and got saved, Ashley Cole's pen was the same. When Cole went up, iw as conifdent, he always scores pen, but he goes on tapping it like its an open goal. If Young's pen is really terrible then Cole's pen is the same. when he hit it, sorry not hit, when he tapped it, i knew it was going to be saved.
I was actually having this conversation with my friend, England are always touted as one of the favourites before major tounaments but they have never beaten any major team in any tournaments outside of 66 and 96 except for Argentina in 02, so i don't understand why the fans or the media get angry and attach any blame to the players because it really is not their fault that they have never been good enough to go as far as they had been projected. Maybe when the whole country realise that they are not a very good national team, then they will have the time needed to overhaul the whole squad and establish a new philosophy and mentality and then maybe in 4-6 years they might be able to reap the benefits of younger and more technically gifted new players who do not have the same types of pressure or expectation of the whole nation. This has worked wonders for Spain and Germany and to a certain extent Italy, so it is no point blaming the players and better to educate yourself about the history and think of what needs to change for there to be success with the national team.
