Why would we not take up the option to sign Taiwo....

I know soul and character are excellent attributes for a player, I just felt that although he showed pace when he got going he turned about as quick as the Titanic. Looked a little panicky on the ball at times. IMHO I think there will be better players and defenders out there and i won't be gutted if he does not sign. Traore is a more complete player IMO, equal at defending but has more pace, can actually take on opposition defenders and has an excellent cross. Our limited budget might be better spent in other areas.

I agree with this , I think Traore was a bit hard done by when he came back from African cup. He does have serious potential to be a good left back for us .

As a left-back, Taiwo is in a different class to Traore or frankly anyone else we can realistically sign. Fabio would be far weaker imo. Traore can become an excellent wide player.

Yes, we've had this discussion before. It doesn't look like Taiwo is coming back but if he were to sign it would be a very unimaginative manager who could not find berths for both him and Traore. I think the OPs question is still unanswered however: did we have a firm option on Taiwo (presumably not) but if so, why isn't it being taken up?

We had an agreed fee with Milan I believe but Taiwo has rightly acknowledged that bigger and better clubs may be interested. I'm sure the club will have made him an offer.

The transfer fee was agreed but not the wages, he might have come out and said he wanted 80k a week in which case wed tell him to do one.

Hes a good player but we shouldnt be giving stupid money to players. We should sign players who want to be here, not just ones who follow the biggest pay packet.

Love Taiwo. He just looks like a QPR player somehow. I prefer him left mid myself.

I agree. We may have been held over a barrel last year out of sheer panic and desperation but the club has been rightly selling the vision this time.

No mercenaries please just people that want to buy into our future.

He said he loved our club and wanted to come here. All of a sudden his head has been turned by others. And some on here think we should take him because he has soul. Don't be silly, he is after the money like the rest of them.
