I guess most people will know what I'm talking about! I have had enough of them so will be cancelling my £50 contribution to their profits this evening! I will transfer my business to Richard. You can bet the home game against Millwall will be the next to transfer to a Friday night. I am apo--fecking--plectic !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not with a lot of AllHell
I'm in the minority, but I love my Sky. TV, phone and internet Takes me under 10 minutes to download films whilst I watch Sky Sports News and on the phone to the local curry house EDIT Just seen about the change of date for the Palace game. I can understand how that will make it awkward for the Addicks who live outside of London - but I'm all for a floodlight game with Palace. Both the 2-0 home win and the 1-0 victory were played at night and made for a fantastic atmosphere. I generally think big games at night are better (could well just be me though).
It's always just me I admit in recent years it hasn't been the same due to the League we've been in and the decrease in support - but with this game bound to generate 25k+, it will make for a fantastic evening (as long as we win ) Do I get anything for joining the 10k club?
Yeah, totally agree with you AllHell. I was hoping to experience being an armchair fan at some point in the new season but they ain't showing the Gills at all ps. will this affect your attendances? I suppose you could still send round the red buses to pick up our lot for tv viewing round super's place
I'll tell the missus to get the bacadi breezers in and cook up some chicken dippers and potato smilies. As for attendance's, We'll still be very near to a sell out, if not actually reaching full capacity.
You think less than 20k? No chance. They will easily sell their 3k allocation, so you think there will only be 15k CAFC fans there?
I think you'll be pleasantly surprised - Palace will receive the full 3,000 allocation and easily fill it. Their ''Ultras'' will make sure of that It's an annoyance, but really don't think it'll make much difference to the attendance.
This is the one time I've ever been pleased with Sky moving one of our games... I'm going to be out of the country during the Palace game, and was feeling heartbroken about the prospect of missing it, now I'm quite pleased that there is a chance of me catching the game in a pub/on the internet. Still, nothing will beat actually being there PS I agree with Chrissy, I think it will be a near sell-out. Its our first league game against a rival for 2 years, and our first against Palace for 3.
Also, the last time we played Palace at home (when Spring scored), it was on a Tuesday night I believe and we got 20,627 turning up. That was after a run of 19 games without a win when we were a team clearly on their way to relegation to the third tier. http://www.cpfc.co.uk/page/MatchReport/0,,10323~45410,00.html I'd say there's more of an appeal for a Friday night game (in a season when we will surely be on the up), so should hopefully get more than last time we played. I guess that doesn't factor in those missing because of the game being shown on Sky though. We'll see I suppose.
When Varney scored twice I missed the first 15 minutes due to heavy friday night traffic. The dates get mucked around even more in division 1 because there's more money there
We now also have our Boxing Day fixture and Easter Monday Fixture being mucked around with for "policing reasons" This means that instead of playing at 3.00pm on Boxing Day v Ipswich we have a 1.00pm kick off which is not fine for those of us season ticket holders who live a distance away from the Valley since instead of having a bit of a lay in after the Christmas festivities we will have to be on the road early which is none to friendly. Then we have the move of the Easter Monday fixture against Brighton which as an away game on a bank holiday I could have gone to is now impossible on a work day. I don't recall this level of disruption to our fixture list last time we were in the championship is it a new phenomena or are the authorities attempting to limit our attendances?
OH FFS! I'm now going to be back in Tewkesbury for the Brighton game and in France for the Palace game. I see few enough home games as it is, without this b*ggering about.
Yep annoyed with sky too, means I miss the game as I can't get down on a friday, least its available in the pub so not all bad
