Quite a few comments about the possible missed signing of Gylfi Sigurdsson, this following no further news on the stadium and the appointment of an untried manager at our level. We all have different opinions; I personally am prepared to give our current owners time to execute their plan. In general, we are known as patient, knowledgeable and appreciative fans.....but I do see the tide turning and a large amount of negativity around every rumour that doesn't favour LFC.

So I decided to run a poll, if I can work out how to do it that is!

    Here goes:

    1. I have every confidence that FSG are the best people for the job
    2. I have faith in FSG but am a little apprehensive that we will not compete at the level we need to
    3. I'm totally indifferent, just happy to support LFC
    4. They seem like good guys but I fear that we are taking huge backward steps
    5. They are just another bunch of greedy Americans looking to make a fast buck at our expense

    Hope this works!

    Tool <laugh>

I want to vote 4 as so far they have done little (if nothing) to move the club forward on the pitch. Its all well and good to look at "new investment" opportunities but the further we slide down the league the fewer and less lucrative these will be anyway. If they aren't going to invest in the ground/new stadium or they aren't willing to foot a top 4 sized wage bill OR we see no squad investment then R Brendan is going to have to work miracles over the next few years (especially once players like Agger, Reina, Suarez start asking for moves). Can he work miracles? Maybe...but I doubt it.

The reason I can't vote 4 though is because I don't know if they're nice people or particularly care as long as they're doing the right thing. Secondly I don't want them out but I do want them to be INVESTING in the club now and not relying on what deals they can do that will give us a few mill to spend in the January 2015 transfer window. If they do that then fine...we'll all be happy <ok>

I think for me it is investment in the squad. Signing Suarez for example that is the kind of signing I wish we would make this summer. Let's hope we get the right players but you can't tell me that if we went and signed muniain for example, someone with a bit of a higher profile and name that that wouldn't start turning the heads to us a bit more.

If it was "get it right or get out" you may get a few takers yeah <whistle>

I voted 2 in the end because I still think they are TRYING to do the right things...but the simple fact is that IF they don't invest in the team/squad then we will have to hope BR can work on a shoestring transfer budget and relatively low wage bill. If that is the case then he'll have to do a bloody good job to even keep us in the top 8 next season and even better than that once the good players we have now start to look elsewhere for a more "ambitious" club.

totally indifferent was my choice but my ideal choice wasn't on there, I would be "Not very impressed but willing to give more time". Why? Because they've done **** all for the last 18 months except invest 23£m net to "win the title....eventually", yawn.

So 29/29 who are willing to give the owners more time (I noted the one vote who wanted the owners out was by accident) - even the one person who wanted to vote (4), but didn't, just wanted to see more investment.

I'd say that despite our different opinions on how much is an acceptable investment, we are all pretty much aligned and willing to give the owners time. Am slightly surprised at this, expected just a tad more people with lower patience for success.....perhaps I should of done a poll asking if FSG are over or under investing.......but probably a little early for that yet!

It probably is too early yet mate yeah but I do worry if we can't even tie up a deal for a player rated at around ten mill. With a new manager in place (very much their man as well) I would have thought they'd be looking to back him from the off but I'm certainly willing to reserve judgement on them.

With the risk of appearing to be toadying-up to FSG, I think it's far too early to speculate about how frugal or open handed FSG are going to be with a transfer kitty.

None of us know what Rodgers opinion of Sigurdsson and his wage demands actually is, let alone FSG's reaction. For all we know he could have drawn the line in the sand. At least it means that the club are taking considered decisions. I know you like Sigurdsson but there are plenty more fish in the sea.

JH has set out his case as to why, in the present circumstances, a new stadium is not commercially viable. He has now flehed-out his ideas for what a re-furbished Anfield could be like. You may not agree with his conclusions but they are financially sound.

It's still wait and see time.
