Chelsea's performance was an absolute embarrassment for the premier league, I felt bad hat they won by not even slightly competing. To see England do the same was shameful, I would much rather have lost 3-1 with playing football. Pirlo is exactly right, Hodgeson just copied Chelsea's tactics, hoping for a win. He forgot one thing though, it was nothing else but pure luck.
I'd have rather seen England lose all three group games having played half decent football. Especially since we were never going to win it anyway, no matter how we played.
Think he forgot another thing as well. The other being; that if you are going to do this you do actually have to take the break away chances you get and attack with pace against an overstretch team. Like Chelsea did against Barca. Fact is, if England had gone out to win the game there is a good chance they could have beaten Italy in normal time. As Italy were hardly on sparkling form and have a fair few of there own weaknesses. Its a disgusting way to play really, would have much rather seen England go out playing to win and lose than to hide and whimper out like they did
