Well Meth isn't in the united board anymore so we have to look further afield for our circus freaks.

Ok fair points everyone. But I don't agree that we need that much time. I could probably tell you which Fulham players played well last season, who has strengths and who has weaknesses. If I you and I can do this, Rodgers should too. Maybe I'm premature in this post, it was definitely an overreaction. However, it doesn't take 2 months to realize that Downing can't cross to save his life, that Adam is not the quality of player we need. It doesn't take that long to determine that we need backup in x positions.

I'm assuming Rodgers has to test out his players but bar the youngsters none are going to have changed much in 3 weeks. Does he not have coaches to tell him "we need cover for RM and CM for when Gerrard/Henderson are out"? Has he never seen one of our matches?

You and I don't have access to a professional network of scouts either. Now is the time to gamble. With the modern market 10m for each of these three would be a bargain. I'd rather take a risk on a 22,21,20 year old than on Jermaine Defoe. We always end up taking a gamble on someone of that calibre because everyone else has already signed pre-contracts.

Guy's.. Lets look at what we know

"There are some talented players here but there is no doubt that to get the team to play how I want to play I'll need to bring in other players" - Rodgers
    - The above quote states that we're in the market for players. Obviously Brandon wants to look at what he already has before spending butthat's common sense. Why splash out £10m for a box to box midfielder when he could get Aqualiani to stay? He may find out quickly that Raheem Sterling is a fantastic player early on and realise that he may not need a left winger after all. Brandon may look at players like Jordan Ibe & Adam Morgan and think about playing them before spending money on a striker... Rodgers needs a proper look at the team.

"Barry Hunter and Dave Fallows Join Liverpool from Man City"

These two are 2 of the best scouts in the UK, they worked with the league champions least season and they will look to bring in new blood - why sign up scout's if you're not buying new players??

Everyone needs to calm down and show a bit of faith

    1. will people please realise its not FM12 you're on. Rodgers just threw a few sound bites bout and people are hinging on every word!

    2. will people stop even talking about aquilani. the guy is a waster.

    3. i think its pure whining to be one about signing this or that when the reality is its not a race. we bought 7 players.. count em seven.. last year, do you want another seven? ( I do for the record) but i'm realistic enough to see where this is going. so relax guys enjoy the summer... as bad an all as the weather is.

MITO, you are doing the same! Aquilani is far from being a waster in footballing terms, though his attitude (or the presentation thereof) has not endeared him to us Redmen.

I'm glad that I am not Rodgers. He already has a midfield potential of Lucas, Gerrard, Henderson. Shelvey, Spearring, Sterling, Adam, Downing, Maxi, Bellamy, Aqulani, and Cole. Whilst he will have an opinion on their strengths and weaknesses he does not actually know them as individual players and has not seen how they inter-act. 12 players for 4 places!! AND that's before he even addresses our need for wingers!! Now, some of those players may not be with us (either sold or loaned) by the start of the season but it does suggest that any player that we do bring in has to offer some very significant improvement.

My own interpretation is that our player search should focus upon wingers and strikers but then who am I to dictate? <laugh>

MAssiveley agree with this. If we sign Sig. I'll get behind the lad, if Spurs sign him, I honestly won't give a ****. We don't need another CM now. He would be nice to have as he's only 22 and a good player, but there are plenty of good players out there.

We don't have as much money as some other teams, and to spend £8m on a position you dont really need to strengthen is a bit of a luxury, we need a striker and we need better supply on the wings. Address that first for me and get a new CM next season, still time to learn from Stevie G then.

Plus, Spurs don't have a manager at the moment, if he goes there it will be for money thus making him a man whore. We don not need men whores in our squad.

    This ^ <ok>

In days of yore, we didn't know who we'd signed until we saw them next to Shanks or Sir Bob holding up the jersey. No-one knows what goes on behind closed doors, nor should we.
