Makes interesting (and somewhat worrying) reading, wonder how much of it is true...

At least we have some more background to the claim, it makes some interesting reading. From my layman understanding this seems to be a constructive dismal case with an added element (the racism aspect).

As I said before it is very imprtant that this case is treated seriously (which I am sure it will be) because any sniff of a "cover-up" or a dimissive attitude could be as damaging to the club as a guilty verdict

Snow? I left home at 5.30am and did not eventually get home until about 10pm a couple of years back in bad snow including the pleasure of being stuck on top of the QE2 bridge. I then had to go in again early the next day, stuck in the same traffic with the boss on my case. If I had refused to go in I would have been deducted holiday pay and I am not paid anything like a footballers wage. Everyone at work then debates who came in and who did not, finding some grievance in being forced to come in themself. Then left wondering how we are going to get home again in the bad conditions. Just saying.

I seriously hope that McCammon was not discriminated against on grounds of race. ---- I haven't got a problem if he was treated differently according to his specific situation in terms of fitness / discipline .) At the same time I hope he is not playing the race card as a ' trump card ' - not usually afforded to ' white ' people. If McCammon's claim is true then Scally ( and his accomplices ) should be ashamed of themselves - although I find it difficult to believe that he would openly act in a way that makes it easy for litigation.
My knowledge of McCammon is confined to what I know about his football contribution to the Gills. ( I think that probably all of us have an equal amount of knowledge of the man.) It is my observation that, from a footballing point of view, McCammon has been one of the biggest waste of money that the club has suffered. ( even if he wins the case )

I can't see how it is unfair that he was sacked, but I am sure I heard on twitter from Josh Gowling that he was sacked in the January when we thought he had been released in the summer.

I would be amazed if the race allegations proved accurate. In the current climate it would be the end of scally and Hessy and rightly so. On the other hand the unfair dismissal case looks well founded from the distant viewpoint of the fans. it was pretty obvious that Scally wanted him out and that can only happen if procedures are followed to the letter. You cannot ditch a player just because he does not fit in any more and Scally must have approved the 3 year deal in the first place so the deal had to be honoured or the contract bought out.
If it is unfair dismissal the club can pay up and just be a bit embarrassed and all will be forgotten. A racial discrimination finding would be catastrophic for the club and there would be no recovery without the culprits getting the boot. What odds on Paul Clark as new Chairman next week?

Ahh, so it seems you boys are as much in the dark as everybody else <ok>

It seems obvious to say but the 'facts' presented by McCammon will be totally different to the 'facts' presented by Scally.... it will be for a tribuneral to decide whose 'facts' are the more believeable :)

My favourite parts in the football365 piece that are my favourites are:

"My agent was told by other agents that the job he was doing was an impossible one as they were aware that GFC were effectively campaigning covertly against me with the intention of sabotaging my career."

It is my understanding that his agent is Steve Davies and that Davies is very good friends with Scally. I've met the guy several times and we've chatted and I'm sure if there was an issue between one of his players and Scally like this he would have sorted it out with Scally himself. Mr Davies is also the agent for Weston and Gowling somewhat unsurprisingly.

"The first season went well but by his third season with the Kent-based club, they had been relegated to League Two and he suffered an injury that needed an operation."

The first season went well did it? I must have missed that.

The whole snow thing is complete nonsense. As brb said millions of us made it to work by hook or by crook in awful conditions. Many travelling over much greater distances than 4 miles. Seems like the people who went to take the pictures of the conditions had no issues getting to the property either.

"He lost his temper and flayed the contents of his table. He pushed the table over, throwing overboard the computer on it and all its other contents."

I wish I had seen that. It would have been like a Yorkshire Terrier having a go at a Doberman. Lol

Sorry Mark but I still have no sympathy for you. You were over paid for 3 years (well 2.5 plus pay off) at £2.5k a week that's probably somewhere in the region of £350k. If you were "forced out of the club it was purely because you were an overpaid dreadful footballer.

Agree. How can any one know what happened except those called to the tribunal. So called 'Facts' or reporting of them, can be interpreted varied ways as I demonstrated through a personal situation earlier. It is for the tribunal to decide, not us via a message board. I think I read somewhere that this was going on until Friday, maybe a little patience until then.

ps. Gemini - I see we posted the same time, pleased you picked up on my point nicely, my distance for the record during that weather was in the region of about 60 miles each way.

ps. just out of interest to support my earlier comment, this was my post on BBC606 at that time about the weather as the Rotherham game was P-P, read very carefully what I said at the time - interesting...

Cambridge - It all started on Tuesday the road conditions were absolutely appalling in Kent (15 mile tailbacks on the M25), mainly due to several incidents around Swanley & Darenth, causing total gridlock.

It was more due to incidents than any significant snow, however it was then worsened by freezing conditions because the gritters could not get through.

This then affected the A2 between tollgate & bluewater because the hills, slip roads became impassable for lorries.

Wednesday was better, however the Darenth flyover was closed and lorries were stacked early morning on the M25.

Today (Thursday) you can be jealous as we got our first real significant snow at least a foot as you say.

brb what are you whinging about. I have a verrrry long driveway (40 yards), - the snow drifted and banked up 2 feet outside my garage. It took me three hours to clear a way out - mind you I'd do that anytime to get to see the Gills. Remember that next time...<whistle>:cheesy:
