Good old Stick, 20/1 3rd wonderful that's 2 placed in an e/w patent just waiting on Selfsame to breeze in now
Cheers fellas, thought we had a tasty winner two out but didnt quite see out the mile. Well done all who got on!
9.05 Newbury Royal Envoy 40/1 I think Paul Howling's 9 year old is a very interesting contender tonight. This represents this geldings first run over 5f since 2008 and his first turf start since 2009 and although this could definitely be a no show he's certainly worth a play in my books. Royal Envoy has been campaigned on the AW for his last 31 starts but his last few turf efforts were off significantly higher marks. Barring his runs on heavy ground, he seemed to always run pretty well on turf and I'm pretty surprised it has been this long since he's gone back on the turf, with his last run coming off a mark of 70. Back to his current form, he's been in pretty good order this year winning twice off slightly lower marks but he did finish a good 2nd off a 1lb higher mark so I certainly don't think he's too badly handicapped. Michael Stainton takes the ride and has many times before and trainer Paul Howling is in decent enough form at present. Royal Envoy's first 3 starts in his career were at Newbury where he ran well which is a bonus and although not the likeliest type you’re ever going to find on paper I certainly think he merits a bet at a big price.
What do you think of BRANDYWELL BOY ROTO? Slipped way down the weights and this evening attracting support. Blinkers back on and a 7lb claimer up!
btw fellas, Elliot going for a right touch in the ladies race at N Abbot having shipped none other than Katie Walsh in to do the steering!
Market told the story with Selfsame, dissappointing. Wouldnt write her off completely just yet, she travelled like a nice filly but she is still inexperienced and I wouldnt be surprised if she left that run behind next time. She found plenty for pressure on debut so a bit puzzled with how little she found when asked the question but it wouldnt be the first time a horse proved their first run in a handicap to be all wrong. I will keep the faith that she is a well handicapped horse for now.
Bit more sophisticated than that! He had a 7lb claimer on board that I had never heard of who got 'injured' and Katie stepped in. Very convenient but huge gamble landed! 11/4 last night with an SP of 8/13
Such a con, it's a bit different having Miss K Walsh in the saddle opposed to Miss A Bowles! Katie happen to be in the West Country and got on board a spare did she?
Sorry Stick I missed that post until now. Was definitely interesting on its Sandown 2nd last year off a mark of 69 (50 tonight) but trainer/horse were in such dire form I didn't really like it.
Which one Quel? Brandywell Boy 25-1. Raajih 11-4 RAAJIH possibly out again tomorrow with Jason Maguire up
