A bit of good news on the fitness front.

Steven Taylor has almost completed his rehabilitation programme, following surgery to repair a ruptured Achilles in the closing weeks of last year.

After returning to training at the end of last season to confirm his recovery from a knee injury meanwhile, Sammy Ameobi is available for selection.

Completing the trio is Haris Vuckic, who suffered another fitness setback after returning from a loan spell with Cardiff City in March, but has now declared himself recovered from a knee problem.

Good news indeed. Saylor will be vital to us next season, so hope he can keep fit for a full season for once. Sammy and possibly Vuckic should suport from the bench and may well be used in Europa / League Cup matches depending on Pardew's apprach.

Is Marveaux fit again now too? Thought I'd seen somewhere that he was also near full recovery. I can definitely seehim getting games next season - again, maybe more so in europe.

Yes Marveaux is supposed to be fit and raring to go. He'll make a big difference and no doubt pull plenty of strings. Looked very good from the little we saw of him.

Sammy really needs to go out on loan somewhere. He's just not good enough yet.

If everyone is fit, then totally agree. He'll only get a cameo role if we have a full squad. Would do him the power of good to get some games under his belt. Won't get match fit & battle hardened playing odd games for reserves or Europa every other week or so.

Great news about Taylor. The way he was playing up until he got his injury last season was on a par with anybody. I hope he can kick on and break his way in to the England squad. There are places up for grabs.

Don't rate Sammy or Vuckic, but they still have time on their hands to impress, theres potential certainly.

As I've said in an article I made recently I think Saylor was the difference between 5th and 3rd/4th last season had he stayed fit.

Marveaux certainly looks very lively in the brief time he has played and I'm looking forward to seeing him play next season, can he stay fit though? thats the question. Lets hope so.

Having Saylor and Marveaux back along with a few classy carr specials, we'll look a real threat to all on our day again. Hard not to be excited about the new season. I really think Saylor will make the England squad if he can stay fit. Perfect replacement for Terry.

IF Saylor can keep fit / injury free. IF. And Marveaux for that matter. Both good players, both injury prone. Would be good to see them both get plenty of games this season.
    I'm excited already.

We didn't do at all badly last season, and with a fit Saylor and Marveaux, plus any new Carr recommendations we'll be a match for anybody.

Don't think you were going to be in the starting XI so no problem. Just take your time and get fit.

Talking about getting fit, I didn't know it was (one of the poison dwarf's (Wise) star recommendations) Francisco Jimenez Tejada's birthday today.

Spent more time on the bench than on the pitch.
