Sky have honoured us once again to be the first live game of the new season. This is not the first time our games against Sheff Utd and Scunthorpe were live opening day games.

Cardiff vs Huddersfield is now on Friday 17th August at 7:45 pm :)

Start with the best and the rest to follow as they say ;O).

Well its good for me as going away for a mth or so on sunday and we have a few Udders lads at uni and they are going to make a night of it in our wonderful capitol city(it will be such a culture shock to them compared to swanc) ,lets hope they only score in town and not the match...;O)

Agree Rhondda. I'd like to see us kicking off the season with everyone else. Guess we have to think of the dosh.

Mind you, there is something magic about night games.

I hope the day never comes when we have to take a time out for "these messages from our sponsors"!! <yikes>

The old 7:30 KO on a Tuesday night were not so bad with 10mins half time, you could get home at a decent time in those days.

With the TV money won't be long before ko is after 8 how are the kids supposed to watch their team then?

what do you mean when the day comes

Agreed that 3:00pm on a Saturday is sacred, but we have to accept that we are a big draw for the media in these parts.

That may well be the case but this will put off a lot of Huddersfield fans from travelling - they will have to forego at least half a day's work.

I was looking forward to a great first saturday with good banter from a large away support.

I wish we could tell the demi god that is Sky to stick their antisocial kick off times where the sun doesn't shine.

look on the bright side.... as long as we dont lose we'll be top of the league... with a 45 game run in :D

Another gripe - our Capita (formerly Carling) Cup game at Northampton is on Tuesday 14th August. We could have up to 10 players away on international duty that week and they will all miss that game. Many of the international "friendlies" will be on Wednesday 15th and then we have Huddersfield at home on Friday 17th. Most of the players won't be back with the team in Cardiff until the Friday morning. Of course there could be more depending on who we sign in the next few weeks.

This is ridiculous and smacks of poor planning by the Football League in allowing our game to be brought forward to the Friday just to please Sky.

I know it can be argued that as a successful side we will have more international players than other clubs but I hope Malky has a serious word with the Wales, Sciotland and Northern Ireland managers. at least, to limit their choices of City players.
