Just left his team in Aussie land to return to England because of family reason. Presuming he still lives up North having played for TWS and the scousers; does anyone think he'd be worth a trial? Seems that he got over his injury problems last year and on his day could be a cracking player again. Like Koren but on the wing.

No. Money grabbing waste of space. Huge talent wasted.

I'd give him trial, with a view to a pay as you play deal. Bruce likes tried and tested players. I wonder if people have looked at him and gone "He's 33, so no thanks." Wow, so so old. You'd think we all lived in Glasgow the way people write off players because of their age these days.

I'm sure it's Kewell's Mrs who was in Emmerdale as well. If they're saying family reasons it could easily be her side of the family and I'd assume she was northern or at least based up here. (This is where miff appears with a picture: )

They're going to be based in Manchester and he says he wants a club local to that area.

That said, if you did sign him, it would be a guaranteed way to get Leeds fans to hate you for the first time ever.

Personally I think it'll fizzle out over the summer and he'll go back abroad where the money is for someone like him with a big 'profile'.

I'm surprised that didn't happen when we signed the legend that was Simon Walton.

Or the season we relegated them with them paying however much it was towards our wage bill thanks to the deals they did with Livermore and a few others. (I'm sure at one point they were putting in wages for 4 or 5 of our players, might not have been that season though)

I'm guessing Barmby was one. Can't think of anyone else though.... Michael Bridges?

I don't think they paid Livermore's, they did pay Bridges and Nick's subsidy came by way a large pay-off I believe.

Livermore definitely - they signed him and then less than two weeks later replaced him with Nicholls from Luton. When Livermore then joined us it involved a pay cut and Leeds making up at least some of the difference.

Barmby - although his contract would have been up at Leeds by then I'm sure the settlement they made was to be paid over a longer time, the whole reason he was leaving was to help their cashflow.

I've got a feeling Danny Mills when we had him on loan was another that was still receiving installments on his settlement/arrangements from when he left them.

Bridges could possibly have been another one, but he'd had a few clubs after Leeds so I'm not sure.

I'm not sure on all the details now, I just remember finding it amusing at the time how many of our squad were also getting paid by Leeds.

I cant believe people are seriously suggesting we give him a whirl. The man is a disgrace and the epitome, like Bullard, of everything that is wrong with modern football.

Wasnt it incredible for example that he was hardly ever fit for Liverpool after signing, rarely playing multiple consecutive games, until Australia qualified for the world cup and then - lo and behold - he suddenly got a run going. Or what about in the Champions League final when Liverpool were 3-0 down to Milan he again limped off with a surprising reoccurence of a 'ghost' injury. He seemed to be moving ok when he celebrated the remarkable turnaround....

    Basically, he's a massive ****er.

I'm not sure if you're making yourself clear? Do you like/rate him or not?

Can't see much difference between getting him or Heskey but Heskey seems to get a lot more love on here, I'd go for young players over either of them going on what has gone on before at the club when we get over the hill players

You can't see the difference between Heskey and Kewell and I don't mean in just how they play?

    Really???

Who cares what TWS fans think. As for Harry Kewell, no thanks, imo. Maybe Sheffield Utd is his level now.
