According to Opta, Maxi Rodriguez has created 31 scoring opportunities for team-mates this term, without any of them being netted - the highest such figure in the top flight.

    Here's a better one.
Nemanja Vidic is the most compulsive shirt puller in the premier league and has never been sent off for it.

From what I remember of Maxi he tends to put the ball just behind the player making the chance harder, he also puts high crosses in other than driving them which may work now but was never going to before and he chooses the wrong option a lot again making a harder chance.

Also how many of those chances were for Ngog who couldn't score from 1 yard!

    Not impressed with that stat.

Fair play to him. My problem with him is that a lot of the time I don't even know that he's on the pitch.

Literally! I've watched games where I didn't see the starting line up and only realised he was on the pitch half way through the second half!

I also read somewhere that he's put in 14 crosses, only two of which have reached a Liverpool player. Seems like most of the opportunities he creates are either crosses or lay offs for long shots, which could explain why none of them get converted.

P.S. Do you mean he has the highest number of unconverted chances in the PL? Cos it says here that, as of around the end of Feb, Nasri had created 40 chances and Nani had created 61. Tho' I don't know if that's accurate:

I know how you feel - I feel the same way whenever Gibson's playing! Even when I know he's playing, I look for him and just can't see him! Is that him? No, that's Giggs. Is that him? Nope, Carrick. Where the **** is he?!?

He seemed to be settling and doing well this season until his mate Torres left. Since then he's looked a bit lost. But he's not going to get much support from Danny Wilson at LB.

I think Amxi is decent, does a good job and pulls players wide too with runs.

31 chances created in which none were put away, shameful finishing. At least 15 or so should have been netted, how better off would we be with 15 more goals this season, it would be a significant amount of points, possibly leaving us 3rd or 4th as bad as we're been

Maxi isn't a winger. He's a CAM.I reckon we could get some joy out of him if we had wingers. He likes to make those diagonal runs across the box in between the defenders if he played in a CAM role.Good impact sub. He's a clever player,However I don't think our previous set-up suited him.It didn't allow him to arrive late in the box.Joe Cole, similar sort of player would benefit too if played centrally and used as an impact sub.It also adds variety.
