Old news but Roma have the full rights of Borini and they are keen on keeping the player. In addition, Borini seems to be happy at Roma as well. It will be a shame if we can't get this guy as he does appear to be the type of player we need.
To take another view, it now means that we can bid for Borini with one club and abide by the FA's rules on player ownership. Roma could very well have bought him to sell for a profit. '"I am at Roma now," Borini told Goal.com. "Roma have just bought me, either today or yesterday. "It's not my business now to go to Liverpool or to stay. I don't know [if there is a possibility of doing so]. For now, I am a Roma player." Admittedly that is coming from Goal but there are direct quotes.
If you are to acquire say, another company, it is common practice to request that shares are consolidated prior to the acquisition - still may be a possibility!
Actually it makes sense... Roma want to sell Borini but cannot unless they buy him outright. I believe they paid something like €6.3m to become full owners. So they will be hoping to recoup more than that from LFC.
That was my understanding - it's a win win for Roma. 1) They keep a good player. 2) They sell him and keep the full profit.
