Mate, i have 2 young sons aged 7 & 11 and it didnt look like there was going to be much for them when they grew up workwise or anything else. Also got to a point where we'd just had enough of the constant grind. I figured i was never gonna be rich, so,if i have to work the rest of my life I'd rather do it in the sunshine !! Ended up with a better job paying almost 2x what i had at home...still miss HQ though! Hold on, i'm sitting in a bar alone....Is this a pick up line then ?!!

Good on ya for going for it. I would like to move to the sun but only down to Menorca, it's only one and three quarter hours back to the UK. At least I can get back to HQ easily.
Mate, I'm never gonna say this is the be all and end all, but its certainly so much better than what i could give my family at home. kids have a decent go at getting a job, trade or just a chance. I get paid more, no language problems etc...just have to deal with these bloody Aussies everyday !! May stay here for the rest of my life, may come back in 10 years, one thing is for sure "If you dont go, you never know"!. I'm not one to sit around wondering what might have been! Menorca is a great place and the 1st place i took my kids on holiday. We had one of those "jame's Villas" where they all have a pool. Seemed like a great idea at first until we realised we had 2 very young kids that were facinated by water. had to keep an eye on them constantly....DOH! I'd go back there as we had a great couple of weeks there.
