I can't decide which way Bruce will go in terms of the Dawson/Dudgeon dilemma. Dudgeon is young, offers more pace and flare in attack, but Dawson is experienced and knows the tricks that most wingers will try and craft out on him. In the last couple of Seasons, Dawson gets beaten a bit too easily and resorts to shirt pulling or basically rugby tackling the player with the ball; which is hilarious, but not good when you concede a free kick/. I think Dawson is brilliant and you can tell he loves the Club. He's deservedly earned his testimonial and I hope he takes some sort of coaching role at the Club, but time for Dawson to become back up I reckon. It hurts me to say that...
I agree with this but would also add that Dawson's biggest weakness and the thing that really annoys me about him is the way he attacks (or doesn't) he slows everything down when he has the ball, he always takes it a few yards up the line before ritually turning back and playing it inside and for some reason he aims crosses for the far corner of the area where no one could possible score a header from. I much prefer Dudgeon, both in attack and defence.
He's also stuffing some Percy Piglets in his face. Hope he doesn't make pre-season too hard on himself.
He will. Patience. Pre-season will be fun not to mention hard for both Dawson and Dudgeon. But that can only be good for the club.
