Sone Aluko has tonight left Rangers and is now a free agent. Please for the love of god, someone from Leeds United get in touch with his agent and get him signed up. This guy is special and would be a massive hit as Leeds United.
I gotta say Boab when you first mentioned him I didn't think much but since I really do think he'd be awesome expecially at championship level with the ability to move on with us into the prem, would add another creativi player to our ranks as well. We really should be interested in his situation
I thought Charlton were favourite to land him, almost a done deal but then again we thought Ward was almost a done deal and look what happened. We need someone like this rather than Norris and Varney
Naismith and Whittaker have rejected it to. Naismith will go to PL but Whittaker could do alright for us at RB?
It's rumoured that Sone Aluko, Rhys McCabe, Stevie Naismith, Steven Whittaker, Steve Davis, Carlos Bocanegra and Kyle Lafferty have all rejected the new deals. He's being linked with Charlton as his sister, Eniola, used to play for their womens team(and England). It's likely there will be a lot of interest him, particularly as he's on a free(other than the academy compo). I wouldn't be surprised if one of the lower Premier League sides took a look him, maybe one of the newly promoted sides.
Yea, this is what I was thinking. Why would a lowere prem team not look at him, he definitely has shown enough quality. How much is the compensation, does anyone know?
He's only been at Rangers for a year, so it shouldn't be very much. Will Rangers even get compensation for him though? I was of the understanding that anyone who rejected a move to the new club would automatically be released.
If he's offered a new deal, at the same level as the old deal and rejects it, the club he's leaving is entitled to compo. As I understand it, the Rangers players were all asked to switch their contracts from one company to another without any change in terms, so they would presumably be entitled to something. It's a strange system really, as he didn't actually go through their academy and as has been mentioned, he's only been there one season.
They don't, but they think they are entitled to some, so they will go to court and lose. The new Rangers (newco) think that they can just change the current contracts of the old business with the new one, they can't and I would suggest they know that, but they need to show a fight to keep the Rangers fans on their side.
He'll get compensation as he's under 24, it just won't be as much as if he'd been there a few years more. I've no idea how it will work. The current Rangers are expected to be non existent in about 6 weeks. If that's the case then there'd be no club to pay compensation to.
That would be the biggest cop out though if they were not kicked out of the SPL. I can't see how anyone outside Scotland especially would have any respect for them
Perhaps, I am only thinking of the future of the game for Scottish players in Scotland. Rangers can provide the ideal platform for players to develop and will provide competition to Celtic, without them the game in Scotland is fecked.
Anyone got any idea of how the vote is going at the moment? I'd heard that the top 4 clubs, minus Rangers, were planning to vote against newco getting a place in the SPL. If they do get the place, how much financial clout does the new owner have?
