In a way I am very pleased that M'Vila did not have an outstanding Euro's. Rennes would have really pushed up the asking price. In fact, I think one of the reasons they might have delayed the deal was because of this.
Whilst I agree with the sentiment of your post Arsenal can no longer afford to pin hopes on "potential" of players, we cannot use the first team as an apprenticeship, players need to be able to come in and do the business.
Nothing wrong with M'Villa coming in. It will hopefully create a healthy competition for places. If Coqs is good enough, then Wenger will play him. He is a fair manager when it comes to talent and to be honest, he will get to play as we will inevitably have injuries/rest players over a long season.
Marco Reus enjoys rave review from Arsene Wenger ARSENE WENGER has revealed he is ‘on the case’ with Germany star Marco Reus. Borussia Dortmund striker Reus grabbed the fourth goal for the Germans as they smashed Greece 4-2 in the quarter-finals last Friday. Arsenal boss Wenger raved about Reus, 23, as he commentated on the match for French TV station TF1. And asked by fellow analyst Bixente Lizarazu if he was “On the case”, Wenger replied: “Yes.” But the Frenchman looks to have a challenge in landing the hitman for the Gunners. Dortmund paid £14m for him in January, but then loaned him to Borussia Monchengladbach. However, he has returned to Dortmund for the start of the new season. Is this true? In my opinion it seems unlikely, as Wenger never talks about chasing potential targets. But i wouldn't say no, actually, when it comes to German, I never say no....
Agreed, that contract would be very costly. Adding to the fact that Borussia Dortmund is an up and coming side, it seems unlikely....
Not sure I would call them up and coming Lazarus. Back to back Bundesliga titles, domestic double and they have won the Champion's League
Beg my pardon, what i meant was, an up and coming heavy weight. It would be good to see another team coming through than the usual suspects, especially a team that's done it the right way. Hopefully we can be back to being competitive with our new signings.....
Adrian Lopez is by no means an Rvp replacement but if he does come in I do fear it will imply Rvp leaving though Lopez can play on either wing. If it does materialise it means we all remainig strikers will have to contribute to compensate for his loss.
Agree with Ammar on coquelin though if M'vila does come it may Imply song might leave and coquelin (as well as frimpomg) may form an understudy to M'vila. Song has been great though so I'm not sure what I want.
I am so happy to be signing for Arsenal — it is something that represents so much for me. “I’ve always dreamed of playing in the Premier League and Arsenal are a great club with many French players.” This is a quote by Giroud
Apparently there are rumours over twitter that Ramsey may be off to fulham on a PERMANENT deal. I will be horrified should these rumours prove true. Loan is another story but selling him is insanity.
Great news, getting business done at the right time. Only M'Villa and the signiture from RVP, and we are good to go.
I would definately not sell him. Loan him out to a ball playing Premiership team like Swansea, Wigan, Southampton or Norwich and see how he does. We should give him another chance with another team for a whole season long. He has talent and we should give him some time to rediscover his confidence.
