Afternoon all. Tis a lovely day up here, the sun is out and the birds are singing. The only thing spoiling it is that my sister is babysitting a really grouchy toddler and all the little one does is scream!!!

Just seen the torch go by..... all build up.... loads of excitement..... sponsors vehicles...... friendly policemen.... then this lady runs past with a lighter..... and we then all queue for 45 minutes while they open the roads again.... :undecided:

... but it was good fun.... and the sky was blue... :)

Can there be two England wins in the same day? Nice to see the Panthers in the England team doing well - Finn best bowler and Morgan hits the winning runs.

Bit like sex in the garden really. Not with the police presence though - and the 45 minute wait seems to get longer every year too! ;)

Just saw this on Twitter it made me giggle and as I cannot seem to find the some fun thread:

    50 Sheds of Grey‏@50ShedsofGrey

'I lay back exhausted, gazing happily out of the shed window. Despite my concerns about my inexperience, my rhubarb had come up a treat . .'

BB,it's late and I have consumed a lot of beer watching England labour through their quarter final, but I'm a bit confused about this sex in the garden. I understand it is better without the police watching but I am not clear about the 45 minute wait...I might well have fallen asleep by then :emoticon-0113-sleep

Morninmg all from a very sunny West West London, although there was a red sky in Bandit Country at 05.00 this morning, so not sure how long it will last.

Oh well, not too surprised at Englands demise at Euro 2012 - in fact quite predictable, struggle through the group stage, struggle through the quarter finals to get to extra time and fail on penalties. I am surprised people are surprised.

Still Wimbledon is starting and there is Cricket at the week-end, so more sporting adventures.

Why are England so bad at penalty kicks? I was looking and they have only beaten Spain in this way with defeats againsts Germany twice Portugal twice as well Argentina and Italy.

The days are being warmer and the clouds smaller. We have 10C already today and this temperature will get bigger.

Thanks for the coffee ak, time to sit and enjoy it this morning as there is a drizzle outside which saves me from watering duties.;)

Mme is happy now that Wimbledon is starting. She watched quite a lot of the French Open, but playing on a surface that is bright orange is not right. They did have an experiment with a pink court which was even worse though, not something I think they will continue with. <cool>

Okay...so, last night was predictable, gutted for the Ashleys, especially ours, but the hit the post twice during the game and were far better than us...i just kinda wish i'd found out the result before i sat up til 3am watching the game! Hey ho. Onwards and upwards..time to think about Watford and the takeover and our future...how very exciting!

Off to work, see you all later :)

Morning all. I dont think the weather knows what it wants to do today, the sun is out to the East but to the West it is very overcast and looks like it might rain any time soon.

I dont think anyone can be bad at penalties, especially not at international level. There is just a lot of luck involved in it. However, that said i dont think any defenders should EVER take one of the first 5 kicks. These have o at least be on target and the strikers/attacking players are the ones who train to do this (in theory). It is a huge risk for a defender to take one.
