I am truly amazed, 20+ is what you expected so about the same for Aguerra at Man City, he would be in the top three of goal scorers. Truly you are completely and utterly deluded, the guy was playing for Watford previously not real madrid
For 3.5 million, he should have scored 20+ last year and done Dai's ironing. Dai, if you really knew what you were talking about, you wouldn't be on here !! After listening to you spout the same crap for years, I realise the error in your own self professed superior knowledge. I suggest you change your usual quote to the following to be more accurate. You should be saying "I love talking ****, because it's the only thing I know anything about"
The sad truth is that if Graham was a squeaky voiced Scouser he'd be Dai's favourite player. I'll give him his due though. In the two/three years I've been reading his posts he's been consistently and completely wrong. By the law of averages he should have been right at least once by now. The guy's a statistical marvel.
Well he's trying alright. Think I've found the root of the problem though: "i dont care about anyones views, each to their own i say...i dont care..." "I give a balanced view" That's Dai in a nutshell. He's completely and utterly delusional because (1) He doesn't care what anyone else says, in his own mind he's always right, and (2) he actually thinks he's the voice of reason and speaks for the majority of fans. He really does. The classic was his recent post "I've praised Jenkins many times" I almost fell off my chair with that one.
you know im right thats why all the sarcastic remarks, If you think if danny is our main striker again and he scores a few goals here and there and has all the barren runs he had last season that we will stay up then you know nothing about football.. we need if we are playing the lone striker a 20+ goal player. failure to do that then relegation is an almost certainty in our second season......Luckly laudrup is on the same wave length as me in recognising we will need goals this time and im afraid danny is nowhere good enough on his own. he has proved it....i rest my case.....
You rest your case do you ? Yes it's plain to see that you have lost the argument as your expectations are completely idiotic, a 20 goal striker would cost 10s of millions. You expect that from a guy who was in the championship for Watford last season utterly deluded !
valley when you know half of what i know about football then you will be doing good so dont tell me son your wasting your breath and time you take to post such rubbish..
So you know the half that you do know, why is it that you are consistently wrong ? I have yet to see you being correct about anything of significance discussed on here, so let's see if I got some of the things right Brendan - to spurs Redknapp - to England Liverpool clause - doesn't exist Graham - not good enough Stadium expansion - not possible despite the club saying its in the pipeline Those are the ones I can think of right now
He also said Pratley had signed for Forest, and god knows how much other stuff. Dai, who scored 20+ goals last season? Are you mad? Do you know how much money you have to spend, or how lucky you have to get, to get that return? We'd have to spend WELL over 10 million to guarantee that return, in my opinion. You should stop slating Graham, the guy did as well as, and better than, could be expected of anyone in our team last season. For £3.5mil, anyway.
I suppose that as he`s only a loan striker, he`ll be going back to the club we loaned him from. Well done Dai, you`re plan worked.
well i have to educate you guys with facts and not bullshit. when a manager says we were fortunate to finish in 11th place because he dont know how we done it with our lack of goals and finishing and the new manager comes in and before we have kicked a ball states that we DEFINATELY need a 20 + striker then who do you think is about right.. Its as plain as your nose on your face that danny is not the right player for us, he cant do it, he cant finish to a high standard and i agree with two managers and countless pundits that say we need a better striker and finisher.....end of story unless you think brendan and laudrup are wrong and danny is the right player.. that wont surprise me and others either. scotty boy are you saying that pratters never went to forest with jinks. ...jeez some of you guys really dont know anything do you. he admitted it and pratters did..
Fortunate to finish 11th bloody hell mate you don't half come out with garbage, we finished that high because we got the points, if we got more or less points we would have been higher or lower. You know that is how things work in a league ! And there has been no suggestion that Brendan or Laudrup has or had any intention of shipping him out, we need more goals yes but that does not mean we need to stop playing Danny because he's not good enough! You want a 20 + goal striker , aguero cost £38m who scored 23 goals for man city, please explain in full how we can get such a player, I am all ears! You are plainly deluded and have absolutely no clue how things are run.
These are the top goal scorers for the 2011 - 2012 season, the top three are what I will call World Class centre forwards these THREE are the ONLY players scored 20+ goals in the season, so to find a player who will do that for us will cost SERIOUS money. So a bit of fun what are the value of these players. By all mean please have a go at the valuations. van Persie Arsenal 30 25m Rooney Manchester United 27 30m Agüero Manchester City 23 35m Dempsey Fulham 17 15m Adebayor Tottenham Hotspur 17 20m Yakubu Blackburn Rovers 17 10m Ba, D Newcastle United 16 15m Holt Norwich City 15 5m Džeko Manchester City 14 15m Balotelli Manchester City 13 30m Cissé Newcastle United 13 25m Graham Swansea City 12 6m Fletcher, Steven Wolves 12 5m Sturridge Chelsea 11 10m Lampard Chelsea 11 10m Suárez, Luis Liverpool 11 15m Defoe Tottenham Hotspur 11 15m van der Vaart Tottenham Hotspur 11 20m Bale Tottenham Hotspur 10 35m Hernández, Javier Man United 10 15m So by my reckoning if we are looking at buying a proven PL goal scorer who can net us 20+ goals, then we are looking at being on the conservative side spending 20m+ with what lets say at least 150k week. That's never going to happen in a million years. As a club we need to find the hidden gems, or take someone like Graham on and develop the lad. Rome wasn't built in a day, and perhaps under Laudrup's tutor-ledge he will mould and enlist his vast experience, thus making Danny a better player. If our main striker can get 15 - 20 goals and our midfield namely Dyer, Sinclair and Joe, start getting amongst the goals, then we should have a decent season.
What are the stats for Goals Squandered? ie "barren spells" Given the level of possession we command, DG should be scoring far more without a doubt (would love to see what the likes of Yakubu could have achieved playing in front of our boys)
We command all that possession, in part, because DG works so hard closing people down, so they are forced into passes they wouldn't otherwise make, and we regain possession. We can't have it both ways unfortunately... if we had £20mil midfielders we could have an out and out striker, but we have what we have. How did Blackburn do with Yakubu again?
Yakubu, has only managed to score 17 goals in a single season. His Blackburn tally is his best. 1998 Gil Vicente (loan) 1999–2003 Maccabi Haifa 49 (24) Goals!! 1999–2000 → Hapoel Kfar Saba (loan) 23 (6) 2003 → Portsmouth (loan) 14 (7) 2003–2005 Portsmouth 67 (29) 2005–2007 Middlesbrough 73 (25) 2007–2011 Everton 82 (25) 2011 → Leicester City (loan) 20 (11) 2011– Blackburn Rovers 30 (17) So we might not get 20+ from him.
Yes all we need to do is spend about £25m getting him and a £100k a week in wages. He is not perfect admittedly but we can't afford better players that cost a fortune. And they would still be a huge risk even if we could afford them, just look at Carroll
