Rooney has to play a blinder tonight to justify Hodgson's decision to start him against the Ukraine. Who's to say we wouldn't have won that game more comfortably without Rooney? He didn't play well in that game and the only reason for starting him was so he'd be less rusty for the more important matches. Rooney didn't deserve to start based on merit and international form. If he plays an important part in us winning against Italy tonight then Hodgson deserves credit for the foresight he's shown. But, if Rooney again proves to be an international failure then Hodgson will go down as another England manager who picks players on reputation rather than merit/form. If Rooney shows us his club form we'll win, international form we'll lose.
How's it like the lottery? With the lottery I can (if I choose) go to my local newsagent, pay £1 for every line of 6 numbers chosen, and if I am lucky may win some money depending on how many of my chosen numbers turn up... The lottery has got nothing to do with a penalty shoot-out at all, whether it's England/Italy or not...
You could have a **** team and a really good team and the **** team wins as it is about luck, put it the right way and the keeper don't save it.
I'm merely quoting what my local newsagent told me when 30 minutes ago, I asked him for a £1 England v Italy penalty shoot out lottery card!
Now I know you're lying, any newsagent in Northampton open at that time on a Sunday can't understand or speak English!
I'd still have Green in goal for a penalty shootout, he is a great shot stopper. Off topic, enjoy the championship (again) next season WellyBlue.
****ing awesome, isn't he? ****ing clown Off topic, cheers mate!
I've Said already I think 2-1, but I would not be surprised if it was 3-1 England. England till I die!
