The thing I like about him is he isn't like the other attention seeking idiots such as Barton etc. I really do think he is generally a little mental, that's why he does the things he does.
On the subject of Barton, it amuses me that he seems to think that quoting Nietzsche makes him some kind of intellectual.
I think ever since Cantona made his seagull announcement, every footballer believes they can come out with something profound. That may be so, but I think it's best summed up by a quote from our very own WGS, who said... "If a Frenchman goes on about seagulls, trawlers and sardines, he's called a philosopher. I'd just be called a short Scottish bum talking crap". The same goes for Barton. It appears, you have to be French and considered enigmatic. We all know Cantona is French, but I thought he was a twerp. Such is media perception.
The question was is he a genius? So I compared him to football greats of old who frustrated & delighted fans and managers in equal measure.. Seems fair and I doubt he will reach the heights of these players
