Not that we'll be dragged into the relegation dogfight, I think we're pretty safe now, but that we'll be losing a few key players in the summer?

I've noticed that Joey and Jose haven't been looking happy lately and are still reluctant to sign contracts. Now with this Phil Thompson video been released, my fears have been heightened. Who's going to want to join in the summer when we've sold two of our best players? Not exactly showing ambition, is it?

The sooner we are mathematically safe the better. Then we can see if Jose really wants to stay or not. If he doesn't want to , I would like it if he just said it now so maybe we can agree a deal before the window opens. The problem with the Barton saga is the wages , and I think Ashley would be stupid to let him go just because he's asking for too high wages , as I think he's definitely worth it. It can't be that high can it?

Anyways , fingers crossed we'll extend their contracts and we get ourselves a few decent players with the money from the Judas sale. A decent striker must be priority!

We'll have to wait and see won't we, all the fans can do is turn up week in week out and make the players feel wanted, which is what we have done. But it may be an interesting summer, one that will define our direction for the next decade I feel...

Gonna be a horrible long wait. Have a bad feeling that the transfer window's gonna screw us over again though :\

sooner the window ends the better. I reckon we'll bring players in quickly because we'll already have made agreements but it'll seem to take so long with all these rumors

Many deals are done beforehand I think now, so we could see a flurry of activity at the start of the window and a bit towards the end, god knows what will happen though.

I disagree about Barton - he has been here for 4 years now and only justified his salary for one of those 4 years - he should get our wage limit at most, if he is not happy with that he can feck off.

As for Carroll - I and anyone else here would have sold him for £35M, he was one man, with £35M we could easily get 4 or 5 players to make us a top half team

And Enrique - For £15M seems a bit of a good deal for us again. Does anyone think that one of the 2 international signings when we are guarenteed safety is a left back then?

If Jose is away (which I hope he isn't), Once we are mathematically safe I'd seriously consider starting Ferguson instead to build up his experience and working with Jonas.

Barton has already said he wants to stay and will sign if Nolan signs, which I think they will. I really can't see many others leaving to be honest.

I agree with a lot of what you say.

I definately would have sold Carroll. £35 milion (£30 million of which was paid up front) plus 25% sell on clause. That is too good to turn down IMHO.

I would think that if Enrique to Liverpool is a done deal, then we would have already sorted out a replacement as Pardew would have known that he was going for some time.

If barton goes aswell, then these 3 transfers should bring in between £55-60 million. Obviously not all of this money will be available for transfers, but I wouldn't imagine that Pardew will be short on funds when, in addition to stengthening an already small squad, he will also have to replace 3 of our top players.

Strangely, I am not worried by all this. Obviously I would rather that they both stayed, but I just have a feeling that we are going to bring in some very good young players this summer.

If he does go and we are safe, assuming Pardew knows this I'd put Ferguson on the starting line up straight away, build up some experience & confidence.

I definitely wouldn't considering our fans.
I'd keep bringing him on sure, but we seem to want to blood our kids far too much yet blame them when they mess up.
Look at Ranger, if you went on the #NUFC on twitter yesterday it was full of idiots slagging him off, yes he had an off-day and yes he still needs to find that all important goal as well as to stop being so selfish (and sort his head out too) but we've done the same in the past when we've built our kids up and then they don't always match our expectations at first.
We should blood them in slowly or start to think about loaning them out to a club where the pressure is less severe.

Play Ferguson at LW with Enrique behind blood im that was less pressure and he can help out in the defensive 3rd

Just a thought, with Enrique being a major part to Jonas' game, do you think he could go majorly downhill next season and possibly become unhappy?
