Just a bit of banter my friend.

I remember when he first took over, half the mags at work were furious & ready to throw their S/T's in.

Now the same blokes are mass rimming the old bastard, lol.

    Oh the fickle fan.

Yes I know, we're all the same.

You're right mate. Ok, leap of faith coming off. Swansea will finish above Arsenal next season. I mean, how do we know who Swansea will sign before the end of the window, right?

    Touche <laugh>

But if life has so little meaning for you, you should fill your time in Africa or something helping the needy, not wasting it staring at a computer screen <whistle>

So why even choose the wrong adjective - 'FUTILE' in your attempt to participate in a general constructive debate ....eh ?, look up the word 'Futile', it probably refers to something near - " what's the fu*ckin' point, or no f*ckin' chance

.... Either way .........anyone with a borrowed brain, would get the drift, that the bet is based on 'A LEAP OF FAITH....FFS, and bytheway, even your own fans who read this will kick your are, banterwise, you thick tw*t !

by this 20 point gap will be impossible to catch, what a load of crap, its only 3 wins and a draw both ways, so 10 points that the toon lose, nd 10 points we gain and its even again.

Just look at how both seasons transpired.

Bruce - December we were not very good, Newcastle were 12 points clear and had a steady start.
December - March = we were the form team, Newcastle again were steady, we only made up 6 points on them.
April - May = We could not buy a win, Newcastle went on a 6 game winning streak they finished 20 points ahead.

But, I can definately see us winning 3-4 games that we lost last year, and I can also see Newcastle losing 3-4 games they won last year.

Do I think we will catch them, all depends who is bought and sold for both teams, but it is not out of the realms of possibility, and for me, it will be easier than some mags make out.

We have been given a 20 point boost just by not having Bruce in charge.

MoN averaged 1.42 points per game in his 24 games with someone else's failing squad. Over a 38 game season that equates to 54 points (9 better than this term). If all we do is maintain his standards for a complete season, and to be fair this will be the minimum he will expect (I do believe there will be an improvement) then we will close the gap.

If any mag wants to come on here and honestly state they think that they will improve by 10 points next term (giving them 75 points) I'll happily debate the merits of their foolishness but its not beyond the realms of even the tiniest craa brain that a 20 point gap one season means very little the next.

After all, its not that long ago (2 seasons) that they were a WHOLE DIVISION behind us.

That point average includes the "new manager period" that happens at many clubs when a new manager comes in.
